Thank you Ben! You are such a great teacher. Memorization of this has never been for me either. One trick my teacher gave me that relates to this is, if you know how to tune your guitar, you know the 5th fret of any string is the same note above it, right? Well, the 7th fret of any string is the same as the one below it. (5th fret E string is A, 7th fret A string is E) This helps me a ton as well in finding where I'm at. Obviously, need to shift for the G & B strings, but still helpful in the land of ABCs.
