TABs can be found on my instagram @benellerguitars #weekendwankshop270 Hey guys, its your good buddy, Uncle Ben Eller! One of the things every player struggles with at some point is learning how to properly stretch their fingers out to play big scale patterns and licks across the frets. Many players think they're stuck with small hands that will never stretch like Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, or Allan Holdsworth... but most of the time, its just a matter of bad hand positioning, because as you're about to learn, almost everyone's hands are actually TOO BIG to play guitar!!! In this lesson, i'm going to show you a great B minor scale exercise to practice (plus some handy 3 note per string scale patterns), then we're going to break down why so many players can't make those stretches happen. I'm going to show you a handful of ways to change your fretting hand position that will allow you to stretch out comfortably, my "bear claw" finger spanning concept, and even a couple ways to wrangle that rogue pinky finger thats been driving you crazy! Playing my Suhr Alt T, which is just amazing, into the Fractal Audio AXE FX 3. Love it!!!! Let me know what you struggle with in the comments, and we will cover it on a future episode of Weekend Wankshop!! Thanks for watching!
