Aliens is one of the formative films of my childhood. Can’t wait to watch this.

 The general consensus goes back and forth on which film is better—Alien or Aliens. Right now, I’d say it’s “cooler” to call Alien the better film. But really, they’re such different movies that it all comes down to personal taste. The way I see it, Alien is one of the most influential HORROR movies of all time, while Aliens is inarguably one of the most influential SCIENCE FICTION movies of all time. 

That being said, without going into spoilers, I’m going to say something I desperately wish someone had told me back when I saw these movies for the first time: the more someone prefers Aliens, the more I DISCOURAGE them from seeing Alien 3. At least not without preparing themselves for a drastic tonal shift.

Assembly Cut for Alien 3 is kind of the best way to watch that movie, if you're gonna watch it¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That goes for everybody...

Great watch, Riley! This is one of my all time favs! Unfortunately, I consider this the end of the franchise lol. The rest are...not good. :/ Glad you enjoyed it tho! I'm a horror fan at heart, but I prefer this (more action oriented) Alien film to the first (more horror) one. This one just sticks with me more.

It’s a shame Neill Blomkamp never got to make his Alien 5 movie. I’m not the biggest fan of his work, but he was going to make some…corrections to the franchise that would have made Aliens fans very, very happy.

Ripley her character development is so marvelous in this film. Sigourney was up for a well deserved nomination for this movie.

Great movie and great reaction! I'm also in the Aliens > Alien camp, but idk if it really makes sense to compare them. Feels like they were very different styles

I like Aliens better but because of the time I grew up. Alien was a Sci-Fi Horror and Aliens is a Sci-Fi Action. Both fantastic. My grandma took us to see this in the theater in 6th grade. RIP grandma.

RIP James Horner. My favorite score of all time. Mostly because this is when I grew up.
