Lucky Penny: THE REAL FOUR HORSEMEN (Patreon)

I wanted to share a little embarrassing treat with you guys about this book that came like 7 years ago... this book is completely riddled with indulgent background Easter eggs.

You might be aware, The Bad Kids in the Foot Clan hoodies are all Ananth's best friends from school (Mike, Joe, and Archer), some of the kids in the D&D crew are long-time friends as well (Jamie and George), the "Casual Friday" guy is our old roommate Conrad... but also, there's so many old OCs in this book, everywhere. You might recognize some if you've been following us long enough. Cecilia is pretty obvious. But if a character has a speaking role or is shown in a full-body shot, they were almost certainly plucked from somewhere else.

One of the big splashy cameos is in the Four Horsemen panel during the scene where Penny meets all of Walter's friends from high school. Wow look at all these OCs, do you recognize any of them? I tried my hand at redrawing how they look drawn now, although I haven't drawn Daniel since like 2014.

• Daniel (pestilence) is from a story Ananth and I were working on for a few years that's been shelved for now. It got overly large and unwieldy and we'll have to revisit it with hatchets some day.

• Pythias (war) is my old character from MAYBE MIDDLE SCHOOL???? He's a dragon!!!!!!! I will probably never put him into any story because he's not for anyone else! The red horse he's riding is breathing fire and is supposed to represent himself as a dragon.

• Dhio (famine) is from high school, I still draw him a lot!! You might be familiar with him— he is my perennial favorite and one of the three protagonists of Walking Gods which will hopefully some day be turned into a proper story instead of on 1000 fever dream docs and scribbles from the past decade and a half. Dhio is riding on Keir, his horse! She is also technically a long-time OC! Two of his cohort are also hidden in the book, North and Círran. I didn't put in Kaia but I honestly don't know why!

• Death (death lol) you hopefully know!!!! His design has changed but his personality hasn't! 

They are all riding bareback, partially as a nod to the famous Viktor Vasnetsov painting, but also because I desperately didn't want to research or draw riding tack. Who has the time!!!! I already was drawing horses what else do you want from me
