Hero Corruption 2 v0.30 Released ! (Patreon)

Hi everyone, before you start playing, I strongly recommend that you clean up the persistent data from previous versions in this update.

Windows users can delete the "HeroCorruption2-1648729160" folder in "...\AppData\Roaming\RenPy". While Adroid users only need to clear the app's data and cache


The new version of HC2 is out !

Changes:


REFINEMENT SYSTEM

  • Accessories can now be refined at the forge after unlocking a specific perk.
  • Accessories can be refined up to +20, each attempt consumes 1 Iron.
  • Attribute gain is exponential, every 5 refinements the amount of bonus Attribute received increases by +1.
  • EXP Ring is now refinable too


REWORKS

Confusion Debuff:

  • Reaction time now takes into consideration the difference between the player's current and maximum Lust, current Corruption and current CON attribute
  • The higher the Hero's Lust, the number of wrong alternatives also increases
  • Choice positioning is now truly random


Escape Mechanic:

  • Chance of a successful escape no longer increases by 10% with each failed attempt. Instead, this chance is increased by AGI%
  • Unsuccessful attempts keep stacking up normally


NEW AREA: THE JUNGLE

  • The Jungle is the new hardest area in the game.
  • Unlike the Dark Woods in Hero Corruption 1, the Jungle is pretty straight forward, similar to the Swamp, Deep Forest and Forest.
  • Two common girls are hanging out here, there is no bosses just yet.


OTHERS:

  • New enemies: Paige, Polly, Bianca
  • Added 1 new Equipment: AGI Ring
  • Added 2 new Perks
  • Added 1? new Bad Trait(s?)
  • Added 3 new Bad Endings: Paige, Polly, Bianca
  • Added 3 new Achievements
  • You can now increase attributes by +5 or decrease by -1 instead of having to press the Reset button
  • Desktop players can pick actions via 1, 2, 3,... keys instead of a mouse
  • Added Attribute checks
  • Updated Main Menu and icon images
  • Added an sfx to Level Up
  • Added titjob sfx for Charlotte
  • Updated Tutorial images
  • Renamed Bisexual Trait to Shemale Lover
  • Removed all "Defeat x Enemy 10 times" Achievements


BALANCE STUFF:

  • Early Bird Good Trait wakes up earlier 2 hours > 3 hours
  • Increased Iron Fist Good Trait Bonus Damage +3 > +5
  • Decreased Corrupted Bad Trait Base Corruption 5 > 2
  • Increased Lucky Good Trait bonus 10% > 20%
  • Laura no longer masturbates when the Hero's Lust is below 10
  • Increased Megan 2° and 3° stages threshold 30%, 70% Lust > 40%, 80% Lust
  • Decreased Charlotte's HP 300 > 260
  • Decreased Kendra 2° stage threshold 125 HP > 100 HP
  • Decreased base chance of escaping sucessfully
  • Kendra now check for Lust instead Foreplay Addiction at her Event


BUG FIXES

  • "Clear All Data" button was causing a bug in persistent data, it has been temporarily removed. Players can still delete the HC2 folder in AppData to start a fresh save
  • Fixed Tablet layout
  • Fixed Attribute cost increasing when drinking certain potions
  • Fixed Intoxicated debuff being applied twice
  • Fixed recipes being dropped when the player already has them

the UI for upgrading attributes is a bit unintuitive right now. instead of the current points sharing a space with the upgrade by one button you could split that button off . so basically you would have ["-1" button] [unclickable "current" textfield] ["+1" button] ["+5" button] love the + 5 button btw but maybe show us the cost when hovering over it ?

That's actually a great ideia ! The attribute screen is looking really clogged right now... I must admit that this is not a priority tho... There are a couple of stuff that I need to work on asap, but as soon as things calm down a bit I'll revisit it. Thank you so much !

Terrible update. This has just become impossible to play using mouse/touchpad. Once in confused state with Amy you've no chance.

Hi David, keep in mind that you can use keyboard keys to select choices too. Also, if your corruption/lust is too high, it's indeed humanly impossible to react in time. But your criticism is still valid, I could add a toggle in Options for users who don't want to deal with the reaction time.

agreed. it's not about reaction time but the whole mechanism of confusion. It is statistically close to impossible to escape once you missed the first one. It is interesting feature but don't use it on any boss or enemy. Can appear at some random encounter or event that can gain an extremely large amount of reward.

in addition, is HC2 can only end by dying? (no 14 day restriction) One thing i really dislike is removing the perk system. really tough to improve the character during a run.

the escape is now tied to Agi the more you have the higher chance you have to escape. he saids this in this update but i do agree with the 14 day restriction needing to come back

Hi veritas ! Currently the only way to end a run is by being defeated. I already received the suggestion for players to have the option to end the run earlier and it will be implemented soon.

I see it, I haven't upgrade any AGI since it's entire new run, but still, can't escape at all is a bit too much nerf.

What dos the Stalker perk do? Aren't all girls random?

Definitely not ! It may seem completely random, but all girls have a specific time when their spawn rate increases to around 60%. Granted, these times are now randomized with each new run, but you can still see them on the Enemy Profile Page after defeating a girl at least one time. In fact, this info is extremely important when grinding enemies with much needed loot or avoid dangerous girls. Anyway, the Stalker Perk increases the spawn rate from 60% to 100%, completely removing randomness and making sure you find exactly who you’re looking for

Sort of a strange question here. I love your work and I'm happy to support it. However, I'm not a huge fan of some of the pictures. I was thinking I could just replace the jpegs on my system in order to customize it, but I don't see any. Are the photos not stored somewhere on my PC? I'm running this on Windows.

Hey Patrick, photos are tagged as classified files. The way I see it, there are two things you can do: The first would be messing with the game's code and changing the files yourself, which may be doable, but I can't really recommend it. I hope you understand. The second way would be to tell me which photos are not to your liking and which ones would you like to replace them with. If I like them too, maybe they can even permanently replace the old ones. If they don't pique my interest, I could make a special version with these alternative photos and upload to the public (keep in mind that it would probably be a one-time-only thing)

In the backpack the gloves recipe says it requires 1 wood, but at the blacksmith it requires 1 fabric. Not a big deal but figured it's a small update for the next patch! And no big deal on the picture issue. I was just curious! Thank you!

I think i have a bug where I can only do stats upgrade by 5 levels at a time cant change it and it is very annoying

Huh, that's a weird one. What exactly happens when you click the +1 button? Does it still react when you hover the mouse over it?

it just says +5 not plus one and it levels up by 5 not 1

Hey Tiziano, just to be sure: The +1 Attribute is the big button with the current value, an arrow and the cost to upgrade it. It's located between the "-" button and "+5" button. Is it not showing up? Can you still see the values mentioned above?
