Maternity Leave and Patreon π (Patreon)
Content
Today is my official last day of work before my maternity leave, omggggggg!
This means no more filming, no more podcast recording, no more working on video ideas/scripts or giving feedback on edits, email out of office auto-reply ON, work email removed from my phone, no brand work, no work events etc. etc. etc.
But there are a few bits I'll still be doing until baby comes...
As I've mentioned to Patrons and in videos we have a bunch of floating content for the YouTube channels and podcast AKA "floaters" π© these are videos and episodes that can be posted in the following weeks before baby is born or after I return from mat leave depending on when they decide to grace us with their presence. There is also the "final week of content" that are a proper farewell and will be posted the week after I give birth and then nothing for 3 months!
THE NITTY GRITTY PLAN
The actual detail of how this works is basically every Monday afternoon I will schedule that week's content (2 videos and a podcast episode). At any point that week if I go into labour I'll tell Moog and Mia and then they will schedule the next week's content to be those final farewells.
For Patrons in the middle tier who get early ad free access to the podcast you will still get episodes a day early because the Patreon RSS feed is entirely separate from the public podcast RSS feed.
However, unfortunately because I need to be able to schedule YouTube content I won't be able to post any of the "floaters" π© or the final week of videos early for Patrons because when you schedule a video on YouTube it is "private" instead of "unlisted".
I'm really sorry about this but with the unpredictability of when baby will come it's best if I can schedule everything at the beginning of the week instead of needing to be on standby to push videos live throughout the week. I hope you understand.
PATREON PERKS DURING MAT LEAVE
I recently shared the April reading list as I always do that around the beginning of the month and was keen to still get that out! I might schedule an impromptu Patreon monthly livestream this month also if I'm bored out of my mind waiting for baby.
Once baby is here, things like the reading list and livestreams will officially be on pause but the Patreon will still be up (as I very much still have business costs to pay whilst I'm not working!) and it means we can keep the discord open and I have a feeling I will be hanging out in there a lot during maternity leave especially in our #kids-table channel πΆπΌ
THE BIG RETURN
Patrons will be the first to know about exactly when I'll be returning to work and when to expect new videos!
I hope you stick around, Patreon is such a brilliant way to support creators financially when they need to take breaks and I'm so grateful to have a community like this who want to be a part of my work in this way.
Thank you thank you! See you in the discord server! π
