1) I got a comment on the LC video:

"The price was garbage - you could buy a 386 with a hard drive, an SVGA monitor, and a SVGA card for that kind of money."

This is the outdated nuts&bolts comparison argument that ignores the user experience. I was having to flip back-and-forth between Mac with System 6/7 and PC with Windows 3.0/DOS Shell at that time, and I wouldn't have chosen to use the PC even if someone gave it to me. That said, we couldn't afford the LC but settled for the Classic II.

2) The Quadra 840AV came up on local classifieds. The seller is very aware of the value and lists the price as "Please Contact". Cynically, I figure anyone who wants the potential buyers to make offers is probably just trying to gauge the value more than anything .. and hoping maybe someone will offer $1500 or something crazy. I steer clear of these ads myself and gave-up trying to acquire this model long ago, because the earliest collectors were drawn to it's “fastest 68k” status.

From the seller: "I’m considering selling this gem of vintage Macintosh history. I’ve had lots of fun with it but am willing to let it go for the right price. This is the fastest of the 68k generation, and there weren’t many made. I’m taking offers, but not super motivated to sell, so if you’re really keen on adding this to your collection, maybe there’s a deal to be had? - Everything works, though I haven’t tried the video capture. - the cd bezel is missing. They’re hard to find. Otherwise everything is complete, and un-molested. It’s in mostly original condition and clean. - no evidence of leaky capacitors, it’s all untouched. - plastics are a yellowed and brittle as usual, but all things considered very good shape for its vintage. Please don’t bother offering some low ball amount. If you’re familiar with this model, you know it’s not a cheap one. I’m not expecting eBay prices, but I’m not letting it go for cheap either."

3) The script for the G5 tower video is finalized. I’ve still filmed a lot in the last few months without a firm script, plus I add things in editing… usually fun stuff. Thanks to Tristan for donating the AV Adapter that was a supplied accessory for the G5 tower, as well as an 8600 accessories box and other interesting artifacts that I can use in videos.
