I got an interesting comment the other day on my Apple Network Server video from a retired Apple employee who worked on porting NetWare to the server. The project was cancelled late in the development. He was kind enough to send this picture of the internal demo CD. He also shared his remembrances..

"I remember demoing in Barcelona at an Apple European sales conference around that time.  It’s possibly the only copy still in existence."

"I believe that disk would work on the PPC 6100, 7100 machines as well as the PPC Network Servers or at least the network server prototypes."

"I sat in lots of meetings with the Shiner team during the development. A few dumb decisions were made like doing their own video controller for reasons that never made sense. We actually compiled our code on IBM RS6000s back then."

It's pretty rare that an Apple employee from the 90's will jump in and comment, so this is pretty cool! He offered to get a better picture, so I will take him up on that.

That's fascinating, I'd never heard of this existing. Images are great but the kind of image of this I would prefer is an ISO...

What a find! That would be cool to take a look at, I hope they’d consider archiving the disc!
