Received from Alan Miller of South Carolina July 17, 2015.

I sent out a request looking for a 6100 on LEM swap and he was the only one who answered. He had 4, 6100’s in a pile under a table for years. He said a school used to call him whenever macs would be junked and he picked them up. He recalled filling his truck with 7100's at one time.

I asked him what he wanted for the 6100's, and he said Beer from Canada... Specifically IPA. Will do. The problem was I had to pick the 6100's up. He said he would be visiting his father mid-July in Rochester NY if I could get there.

It was serendipity that my Wife proposed we go to the Niagara Falls Air Show in NY. So, we would go to Rochester first and stay the night there. Every hotel in Niagara Falls was booked solid for the Air Show anyway. We got on the I-90 highway at exit 49 and Rochester was Exit 51. That's really close! Unfortunately, exits in NY State aren't based on distance like they are in Ontario. After a couple HOURS driving, we arrived. It was 10pm and Alan was ready to call it off, but agreed to meet at the Wegmans grocery store parking lot for the exchange. * Whew! *

Photo 1: My wife claims I'm praying, but I'm actually vigorously texting Alan from the hotel to not call-off the exchange.

Photo 2: The nightlife outside the Hotel was awesome!

I was worried about problems at the border going back, but the border guard could not have cared less about 20 year old computers and did not even look up from his monitor.

This acquisition of 6100's from Alan made my Power Macintosh 6100 video possible. Alan is an accomplished underwater photographer. https://www.wfdd.org/story/excursions-beneath-sea-alan-miller

Basement Macs

I don’t know many vintage Mac collectors…but the ones I do know all seem to have their own pile of 6100s.
