I thiiiiink this might be the first time Aliens came into play with the Gundam Franchise? I might be wrong on that since I don't have a lot of knowledge on this franchise outside of a few series. I appreciate whenever aliens in media are depicted as totally 'alien' in design, like they're not even remotely humanoid or even mammalian/animalistic in design.

Love to hear that you’re going back to 0079 for the next series, my personal recommendation would be to watch the 3 compilation movies on Netflix, in total they run about 7 hours across the 3 films, and you really don’t lose much in the way of major story beats. The original Gundam suffers from being used as a vehicle for toys so you get a lot of mobile suit/armor of the week, so the films cut a lot of that out.

-2:08:15: Thank you for finishing the movie. So, the special edition you’re talking about is just the condensed version of season 1 and 2 with some new animations. If you still want to dig into the lore of Ano Domini Timeline of Gundam 00, There are some side stories in the form of Novels, Manga, and Video Games. Most of these side stories take place during or in between the series and the movie: -Mobile Suit Gundam 00p (novel): a prequel story before Mobile Suit Gundam 00. There are some familiar faces like young Ian Vashti and the introduction of Feldt’s parents. -Mobile Suit Gundam 00f (Manga/Video Games): A story about an undercover organization that acts as a supporting faction to the main celestial being group. Take place during Gundam 00 Season 1. This side story is also featured in a game titled SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays, as the shorter version of the manga, other Gundam side stories like Wing, Seed, and Iron-Blooded Orphan are also featured in this game. The Game also shows the full capability of ELS Qan[T] (The fusion between Gundam 00 Qan[T] and ELS) Which appeared and turned into a field of flowers at the end of the movie. -Mobile Suit Gundam 00I (Manga): This is a sequel to Gundam 00f. The story focuses on the Innovades during Reborn Almark's reign. Take place during Gundam 00 Season 2. -Mobile Suit Gundam 00v : In Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, there’s a sub-part to the main series called MSV (Mobile Suit Variation) which is basically a catalog of Mobile Suit that was never shown in the main media/series but existed in the lore. The 00P, F, I, and V are considered in this category. While the others act as some sort of expansion to the main series, this Gundam 00v acts more like some kind of DLC that introduces extra variants of mobile suits, and each of them was introduced in the form of individual short stories that describe their capabilities and mission they’re engaged on. -A Wakening of the Trailblazer (Manga): Manga version of the movie. The difference is there are some extra details like what happened to Marina after the Reunion with Setsuna at the end of the movie. -There was also an announcement last year about continuity or potential season 3 with Graham Aker as the protagonist and a brand new Gundam Exia Repair IV.
