So this is your first time seeing a black silhouetted person it is a trick they will keep using throughout the series The person who's black silhouetted is typically the criminal in the episode so they did show a black silhouette instead of the actual criminal that way you can actually see them doing stuff on screen without knowing who did it

Here’s a heads up on the next canon episode. Not sure how EP 86 is credited on the list you use (I imagine it’s credited as manga canon) but just so you know, even though EP 86 is a manga case, it’s actually not from the main Detective Conan manga; rather, it’s from the Special Manga, which is not written by Gosho Aoyama. As such, its cases are not related to the plot of the main DC manga. Interestingly enough, despite being 49 volumes strong and still on-going, only two cases from the special manga have been adapted. The first one is EP 86, and the second one is EP 113. Up to you how you want to approach this, but since EP 96 is another special (and you’ll probably want to watch this one on its own), I suppose you could watch EP 86 so that the following canon episode, EP 91, isn’t left on its own
