So all the characters except for Queen Himika, Ikima, Asamo, Mimashi, Professor Siba, and the Commander are all new characters made for this show. The MC of the original is Hiroshi Siba who was made into a cyborg and transformed into the head of Jeeg. This one is the raunchiest of the 2000's Dynamic productions mecha anime and well keep what you said about Kyo's running looking unnatural in the back of your mind. Also Himika and her generals have a different back story in this than in the original which will also explain the giant size they have when they're supposed to be from the per-historic Jama Kingdom of Japan.
