The Future of Xbox on Nintendo | Punching Up: A Nintendo Podcast, Episode 20

It’s been a chaotic few days as major rumors surround Xbox and the exclusivity of their games. Initial reports pointed to a few select older games moving over to Switch and PlayStation, but it appears the floodgates are fully opening, marking what could be a major shift in Xbox’s strategy. While most of the conversation has been around what this means for their most direct competitor, PlayStation, it’s also important to consider what this means for Nintendo. What games could make the “switch,” and could these games come to the current Switch, or is the new console coming later this year the perfect landing spot? That’s not all, though, because rumors and reports continue to trickle out regarding Nintendo’s Switch successor. The most recent points to an 8-inch LCD screen. After experiencing the glory of the OLED Switch screen, is this a regression? Why would Nintendo make this seemingly regressive move? The Punching Up crew is here to discuss, so please enjoy! Noticing the engagement with Punching Up in terms of comments / likes is quite low compared to other shows, makes me wonder how the show is doing listener wise? Is it at risk of being cut? Hope not! Just curious how it is performing.

Great show as always. I'm just a PC/Steam gamer but I enjoy hearing all of your thoughts anyway. The side banter is always fun. Thanks team.

I think they should make it a monthly show and extend it by 30 minutes-hour. Just not enough Nintendo news.

Fun context as always guys! Going back to that coffee topic. So going by James Hoffman’s recommendation, the grinder is what seems to be most important. Getting a consistent grind throughout the process is very hard. I have a cheap kitchen aid grinder and it doesn’t have a consistency to the ground coffee I get. Sometimes I will find half ground beans mixed with the better ground coffee. I am doing research on grinders myself so I can better enjoy my regular cup of Joe.
