Yes indeed: It's time for another episode of Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, the Brothers Moriarty are joined by Defining Duke co-host MrMattyPlays and Sacred Symbols co-host Chris Ray Gun. Dagan brings a mighty topic this go-around, especially considering the time of year. Halloween draws near, after all. So how do we feel about it? Are we a fan? Were we as kids? Where do we stand now? Chris keeps things ethereal with his topic, one that will become more pertinent in decades to come: Transhumanism. Inspired by Cyberpunk 2077's recent expansion, Chris expounds on the many potential outcomes of a modified person, and wonders whether we've always been a little too eager to change ourselves. Like Dagan, Matty also taps the seasonal energy -- though a little further out on the calendar -- by asking what we're grateful for. But he has an important caveat, in that we should dig deep to find what we're really thankful for beyond the obvious. Finally, Colin wraps things up by asking the guys about violent and sexual content in the media we consume, whether via TV shows and movies, video games, and elsewhere. Has it all gotten out of control? He certainly thinks so.

Hey all, hope everyone is having a great start to the week and a great overall week to come!

The Valentine’s Day over Halloween take is nuts lol

“People in Rivendale never got up to this shit.”

Totally thought the same thing about ghostface mask. I turned 12 and everyone wore them one year. Probably 9/10 kids were wearing ghostface.

The Devmeister

Dagan’s comment “boss fight - real life!” Was hilarious and didn’t get any love haha. I heard it Dagan and appreciated it.

Wonderful episode guys. The Being Grateful topic got me choked up. Losing my grandmother last December was crushing to me due to the suddenness. Looking back I am so grateful for the relationship we had and all the great memories. I miss her like crazy but those good times make it a little better.

Speaking of pointless sex scenes, Colin would hate Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I feel like I was watching a straight up henti sometimes lol.

At my uni they had a Halloween theme which was simply "Dinosaurs and Sluts". Best holiday ever.

This will be my last comment I promise! Such good topics this week and I have to comment on the transhumanism topic. I don’t think anyone on this panel is religious besides Dagan but even he admits he is kinda just culturally catholic. But with that being said, in the Bible it refers to these types of augments or adding computer chips to our bodies and is believed by many Christians to be the mark of the beast. I’m curious if anyone else has thoughts on this?

Just wanted to shout out appreciation to Matty. In my early twenties I had Anxiety pop up that led to a devastatingly bad struggle with OCD and Intrusive thoughts for several years. It literally came to the point of getting out of my truck on a massive overpass planning on jumping. 16 years later I'm married with a couple kids. I still take a prescription for anxiety daily but it's been several years now since I had a bout of it and I'm not even really afraid of it popping back up because I know I can deal when it does. It gets better for sure. Back when it first hit me nobody talked about this stuff even though so many people deal with it. I think just mentioning it like that will help someone in the thick of it realize they aren't crazy or alone.

Halloween is definitely for younger people…if Colin had kids…he’d probably have Halloween ranked much higher

Colin, as a film/tv camera operating professional I have to say it’s TILT up, not PAN up, when moving a camera up and down. Panning is left and right. 🤣 Also, it’s a PITA to shoot sex scenes as you have to have intimacy co-ordinators and ‘closed sets’ where only certain people are allowed to be on set for that particular scene . Game of Thrones specifically used sex scenes to make boring dialogue and conversations more interesting. So while it may be ‘easier’ for writers to just write a sex scene, it’s certainly not from the production side of things. I worked on the latest season of Bjg Brother here in Australia and we had to stop contestants - sometimes in the middle of going down on each other - to get them to tell us they ‘consent’. Eventually the housemates forgot there were cameras and would get completely naked when getting changed, showering, etc. I saw A LOT of nudity and other stuff on that show.

Hi, full bar giver here. We just go to bj's and buy the $22 30 bar packs (get 120 bars) for under $100 and it makes the kids super pumped. Best money spent in our humble opinion.

The Cyberpunk topic was a good one and I've wondered about this for quite a long time. I'm not against it at all and I'd actually LIKE some of it...but I also like my body right now, so it's tricky to decide what I'd upgrade/change and why. Eyes is the easy extremely useful upgrade BUT if it malfunctions...it's also the worst quality of life issue for a person who's always had sight. Sex and violence in media is not a concern to me, if I don't want to see something, then I simply won't watch it. I'm fine with both things, if the show/movie is interesting then I'm in. There is a line for me but that's when they interrupt something every 5 minutes to make a damn dick joke...specifically the show "Gen V" on Amazon right now. It's a spin-off of "The Boys", but it's taken something that happened in that show a few times, and it's gone and made it a thing that happens in seemingly every other scene and breaks any seriousness they were working on. It's similar to the Marvel thing that some people complain about, where a lot of the scenes are ended with a quick joke or jab...but this is wildly more annoying to me. Again though, I can just turn it off haha.

Halloween is easily my favorite holiday. It’s like Chris said, it appeals to all ages. As a kid you get to eat tons of candy; as a young adult, you get to party and drink and slut it up with slutty friends (and also eat candy if you want); as a fully grown adult, you get to either enjoy it with your family, or continue to party and slut it up if that's your lifestyle (and still eat candy). It’s tons of fun without the big expectations or preparations required by holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas (which are still great holidays in their own right, but require a lot more work).

Josh Gamez

I don't mean to be the "well actually...." dude, but I'm pretty sure the razor blades in Halloween candy Urban Legend all dates back to that man who poisoned his son with a cyanide-laced Pixie Stick back in the 70s (I think it was for some kind of insurance fraud scheme).

Dan Flynn

The Scream mask was actually just a generic Halloween mask before the movie was a thing. I remember as a kid seeing it in stores well before the movie was around. I always thought it was so cool looking.

Glen Yelenovic

Yes, I came to the comments to say this too. I had the mask before the movie came out.

Kevin Cooper

As an approach to sex scenes, movies & television should just adopt a universal black screen. The picture will just cut to black, and in giant white letters it will read: THEY BANG.
