NOTE ON VIDEO VERSION: YouTube has thrown us for a loop and has been taking many times longer to process our videos the past two days. With that said, the video of this episode is still processing and will be delayed until it is ready. We are currently looking into solutions to speed things up. Sorry for the delay!

As we quickly approach the CMA's deadline for a decision on Xbox's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, we see another significant stride in the deal. The CMA has conditionally approved the acquisition if particular circumstances can be met on the cloud front. Meanwhile, the console wars trek on and Starfield is in the line of fire as it's now been officially rated as Bethesda's worst "official" release ever. There are caveats and we get into it, but also sift through the legitimate criticisms that have chewed up Starfield just as much. Plus, a decent showing for Xbox at the Tokyo Game Show, Jim Ryan is leaving PlayStation, and the Dukes big bet on Dishonored 3!

Man several weeks in a row I’ve disagreed heavily with Cog. BUT much love and appreciation Dukes! Remember! It’s not the best choiiiiiice..it’s Spacers Choice!

Stinkling

I've watched plenty of videos exposing the "illusion of choice" in Starfield. The hand holding, the borderline broken random generation, the barren planets, everything segmented by loading screens. Doesn't shock me its the lowest rated. It was lazy. At least *now* 76 is a fun game, that you can go anywhere in without a loading screen (unless you go indoors somewhere but welcome to creation engine) The only bad thing i could say about 76 is the greedy sub fee and atom store. But its fairly easy to ignore and "play for free" so to speak. Starfield is lazy even by Bethesda standards, so why are we supposed to be shocked? How many times do we let Todd sit their and literally lie about things before we go enough is enough? Its not *cute* anymore, its just proving hes a hack fraud.

Otrant

In Japanese culture the Circle (Maru) means "Yes" or "Good", similar to our checkmark. The X (Batsu) means "No" or "Bad". What's weird is that X usually means that in the West as well. So, if anything, the mystery to me is how X became confirm in western video games. The symbols might also be entirely irrelevant. Even before Playstation, the Japanese confirm button was on the right side. It might just trace back to Nintendo.

The remakes you guys are crazy I want more remakes

🙃 when matty fast travels everywhere then complains about fast traveling, random missions take you to the same 5-10 locations go to a planet and actually explore and you’ll see there are many more locations then you think

Adam Barnes

Matty’s take that PlayStation need to start making different kinds of games is odd. My dude’s favourite games are Bethesda games…. 🤡

Dick Justice

well obviously that's why he wants them to change up what they're making!

MetroidIsBetterIn2D

I thought Matty explained his criticism of PS studios' lack of diversity fairly enough. He said something along the lines of "I understand these games play differently, but they present themselves very similarly." I've heard similar criticism on SS, and I agree with Matty's nuanced version of this criticism. Matty's positive opinions on Far Cry 5 are a "hotter take" than this imo, but hey maybe I'm being too hard on Ubi here.

20 years in the industry nothing positive to show for it but you think they won’t fumble every single developer or publisher they take over

Where my near death experience Dukes at? Peering over the horizon into another existence.

Dustin is really fumbling the YouTube football right now. 😉 Jk obviously. It’s not an encoding issue is it? I’m sure you’d know if you suddenly changed the video encoder or smtn like that though, so prob not.

The orphanage alone took FF8 from a game I thought was really good to a game I cannot stand.

The confidence levels after Xbox puts out their first big game in three years is hilarious.

Cog is too good to ever have a villain arc. #DDTGS

Cog was on fire before the Gamepass pick of the week. Woo! #DDTGS
