Gather 'round for more Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, the Brothers Moriarty are joined by LSM executive producer Dustin Furman and associate producer Ben Smith. Ben would like to reminisce about our roommate experiences, recollecting the memorable people we've lived with in years past. Dustin wants to analyze the very meaning of the term 'masculinity' and explore why we sometimes employ such a narrow definition of the word. Dagan's topic delves into the popular fare around us that we simply can't get into. From pro wrestling to The Simpsons and beyond, what don't we get about what so many others adore? Finally, piggybacking off of a topic in recent weeks concerning immigration, Colin wants to see if this week's panel can pass a form of the US immigration quiz given to those who seek American citizenship. The results may surprise you.

There are two Family Guy moments that are stuck in my brain forever. One is the drive by argument and the other is when Peter gets excited when he hears the title of a movie while watching a movie.

The Devmeister

I’m Canadian and I scored 10/10. Godspeed 😂

Dagan: “if only the fast and the furious had given up 7.2 billion dollars in revenue, the first one would have been a cult classic.” Now that’s a take.

I too am just about 5'9" and would rather LOSE 1" than gain 1". Sure there might be a stigma against me...if I have a damn, BUT more importantly to me...I absolutely LOVE cars and being shorter helps with that. I wouldn't want to be 5'5" but my height now means I can fit into basically anything comfortably. That's far more important to me than what any shallow person I wouldn't like anyhow, could think about my height. (Rachel is only 5'2" which is of course quite vertically challenged for reaching things and such haha). At the same time, we both can enjoy a musical (more her than me), theater, cute stuff and all that jazz. We are perplexing people.

I, actually both of us very very much so enjoy building, designing, and/or making things. Between us we can basically do anything within reason.....and even that we'll look up and learn haha. Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowes, etc etc are like Toys 'R Us 😂🤣

I feel similarly to Dagan where I always really wanted to like wrestling, but I caught on that it was fake pretty early. Now that I’m an adult I cannot wrap my head around how other adults enjoy it, knowing that the outcome is predetermined

DDTJOESTAR

actually, I can kinda answer this as someone who’s getting back into it after a good 4-5 year break. Usually yes, match ends are scripted and there is the element of Kayfabe to it. But it’s a lot like watching FGC events live, there’s this energy you receive thru the tv from the crowd, the wrestlers still have to perform and take the punishment as they dish it out (can’t fake a steel chair to the back lol) but I think one facet that’s often looked over is wrestler Ego. It’s happened recently with CM Punk, but there is always a chance someone goes off script entirely due to disliking the end result, and I believe the brands treat these types of situations differently. (Matty always says AEW is more hardcore from the WWF days, Smackdown and RAW have a bit higher production value and presentation) . Essentially, it’s like live action anime. The biggest surprise to me since watching again is I’ve unsuspectingly made my wife a bit of a fan. Lol well to the point that if I say I’m gonna watch it she’ll absolutely sit and watch with me.

2ge+her was dope! The joke was that the old one was the older brother of the shy one. Great actors and an actual solid band as they sang their own songs. RIP QT. Col, F&F 1 made $207 million off of a $38 million budget. That’s more than big, homie.

Dennis

I'm from the Netherlands, but that citizens test was really easy.

If you want to see what the one off version of the Fast and the Furious would've looked like culturally just look at Point Break, which is what they basically ripped off almost beat for beat lol

lazer_josh

Damn I'm a 6'6" freak according to Dag 😂

I don’t understand why people always bring up that wrestling is “fake”. It’s like, well, no duh. It’s not a combat sport. It is theater. Think of it like watching a live action comic come to life. No more real than any movie or play or tv series you’ve ever seen.

Real great episode gents. Convo on Masculinity was fascinating.

NecrumOddBoy

Daria was a spin off from a character on Beavis and Butthead.
