We’re Playing Starfield… | Defining Duke, Episode 138

The Dukes have Starfield and will have to navigate that landmine for an entire episode! One thing we can discuss is our plans for the game, the content, and so on as it’s been a long time coming. While Cog sits out to rest, Gene Park joins the show to talk all things Xbox. For starters, we dive into the thick of Opening Night Live. From stage crashes, to new Starfield content, and a plethora of new trailers, we have much to talk about! There’s also a surprise turn in the ABK deal where now Ubisoft is involved. What does this mean for Xbox’s cloud initiative moving forward? Plus more on Persona 3 Reload’s date, Phil Spencer’s commitment to four AAA games per year, and what the plans are for Game Pass when Activision joins the Xbox family. Man Gene would be a great third member of DD. I hate to put that on Gene he does all kinds of stuff. He would have to see how he vibes with Cog. Matty you and Gene were like you have been podcasting together for years. Great show!!!

I think Ahsoka is pretty good so far! I don't understand why GameSpot gave the premiere episodes a 2. Also, not to mention, the IMDb user rating is 8.5 if that counts for anything. Reviews are actually mostly positive. I just hope you guys give it a chance before you write it off.

But I am getting a little bit bored with Marvel. I liked GOTG 3 but otherwise I am losing interest.

Get well soon, Cog. At least for the foreseeable future, I’m done with Marvel and Star Wars. I gave a few of the shows a shot and couldn’t pretend they were good. Too many other good shows and movies to watch outside of geekdom.

This was a great show and I enjoyed the episode. Thanks. Well wishes to Cog.

Disagree in regards to AC Unity. Loved the visuals and world but that's it. Parkour wasn't as good as people thought it was, why there was a cover system in an AC game was beyond me and Last Known Position like I was playing Splinter Cell just wasn't it. Plus, the "heists" were a huge pain in the ass to complete solo as they were built for co-op. Overall, a good 7.0/10 game. AC Rogue destroyed it in my opinion. Loved Rogue.

The thumbnail makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Praying for Cog.

Waaaat. Parkour was sick and should have been built upon. Everything else i’d agree. I felt the gameplay was really good and wasn’t just a counter fest anymore

It was cool in regards to the movements but it wasn't fluid or responsive when wanting to go into windows and whatnot. I simply prefer the old Black Flag parkour where you just down RT/R2 and press the analog stick for the direction. Wasn't a fan of pressing the buttons during parkour. Even in Origins and Odyssey, I use the alternate controller configuration because of the parkour. lol Combat was fine I guess. It was still counter based in a way but the enemies had a 5 star level system or something if I remember correctly. Some good stuff was in Unity but it's my second lowest AC game only ahead of Liberation HD since it was a Vita port to 360/PS3.
