Dear Matty and cog How on earth are you two going to be able to do this show without braking embargo? I don't know if I would be able to hold myself. If you guys are extra happy on the show I will know it's a good one. Have an blink twice if starfield is GOTY kinda day.

Hello Master Splinter Matty and Cyber Shredder Cognito, After weeks and months of Matty's recommendation, I finally read The Last Ronin. I just wanted to say thank you to both the dukes for the endorsement of the series. It was an incredible ride filled with laughs, tears, and excitement. Fellow listeners, as someone who does not typically read comics or has a background on the lore of TMNT, please do yourself a favor and read this incredible series. P.S. I've been a listener since episode 1 and have really enjoyed this podcast. It has got me through a lot of highs and lows over the past 2 years and I can't thank you both enough for the ride so far. Matty, I still appreciate you even if your opinion on Mac and Cheese is objectivly bad. Cog, thank you for constantly expressing that health, is in fact, wealth. Love from the Midwest. Have a the current state of New York baseball kind of day - Ben

What’s up Dukers. With all the health is wealth talk I feel I should share my story. This was a few years ago so don’t be too proud of me. But I was single after a long relationship and I was drinking everyday. I gained a lot of weight because of it. (I wasn’t depressed or anything I was just partying with friends everyday.) but I got up to weigh 200 pounds and being 5’9” it really showed. If I’m being honest I was over 200 pounds but I was so embarrassed with myself I stopped looking at the scale. I started going to a gym 2 to 3 times a week and all I did was I would start by running 2 miles on a treadmill.(side note my mom always smoked when I was young so running was hard for me. But I would push myself to run straight and not walk) I would do a pretty slow pace maybe a mild jog but I would put it at a higher incline. (I heard it was harder but less impact on the knees) and I would do some small weights more reps after. I did close grips because I was trying to slim down not gain mass. AND THATS IT, I did not change my diet really (maybe I was a little more like “hey I don’t want that run I did to be for nothing.”) But I really didn’t change drastically and I will say I lost over 60 pounds in 3 months. I worked pretty weird hours so I didn’t see the guy who signed me up at the gym for those three months. When he saw me I weighed 140 pounds and he couldn’t believe I was the same person. But I will say people it wasn’t hard at all. I jogged 2 miles and did low weights, no more then 20 pounds and I lost over 60 pounds. I was maybe at the gym for an hour 2 to 3 times a week. Have a “Earn that game time” kind of day. Love, Mr. Davy

Hey Dukes! Well after months of being convinced I finally did it, I bought The Last Ronin. I enjoyed every page of that story and read it in one sitting. While I’m not a huge TMNT fan I’ve enjoyed a lot of the franchise when I was young. Seeing a more mature Turtles story really changed my view on them. Thank you guys for relentlessly recommending the comic. Is their any other gritty graphic novels you recommend? Have a stuff your face with pizza and miraculously gain no weight kinda day!

Eebo85

Hey man, congrats on the fitness! I'm on a similar journey as well

Hey Dukes! Sticking with the recent theme of positive mental health, I wanted to ask about your experiences with travel anxiety and what you do to minimize that anxiety while away from home. I've had a particularly heavy year of traveling (im at the point in my life where everyone is getting married), and each time it feels like my baseline anxiety is incredibly higher, to the point where I have a hard time actually enjoying trips. I am a pretty routine-oriented dude so im sure thats part of it, but I really would like to work on trying to minimize this. Do you ever deal with travel anxiety when embarking on a trip (work or non-work related), and if so what are some tools you use to deal with it? Ive considered bringing a home console a few times (I do have a switch) as that tends to be comforting to me for whatever reason, but for various reasons have thus far opted not to do so. Thanks for all you do and for continuing to bring mental health to the forefront, its inspirational seeing all of the stories this has already brought out from the community! Have a "I have to get through this medical procedure so I can play Starfield" kinda day!

Howdy Dukes! I’m here with an unusual request, for Game Pass pick of the week I wanted to chime in with what I believe is a hidden gem. Hypnospace Outlaw is a point and click adventure game that takes place in a 90s web browser. You police the forums banning people as they violate the terms of service. I won’t go further for spoiler reasons. Forgive me if you guys brought this game up before, but if not, I highly recommend any who is interested give it a try. Its a short game that can be beaten in a weekend, and I know we all need to kill a little time until a certain game finally gets here. Thanks for all that you do, and take care!

What’s up Dukes, I don’t know about you guys, but with the news of Microsoft giving the streaming right to ABK games to Ubisoft, I’m left wondering why are they spending $69 billion on ABK??? They say this deal was an accelerant to their their 10 year strategy to get mobile users with cloud and making a store. How is this still possible if they don’t own the rights to the accelerant? Love the show and keep up the good work guys.

Howdy ho Dukes, Long time listener, first time writing in. I've been playing quite a bit of Super Mega Baseball 4 and I absolutely love the fast-paced, tight gameplay that doesn't go for absolute realism. It got me thinking, why do we see fewer sports games with more arcade than simulation sensibilities? Rocket League being one of the exceptions, sports games seem to be either retro inspired indies or ultra-realistic, "look we got LeBron's swamp ass print perfectly rendered on the bench seat in 4k with ray-tracing and the game only takes up 200GB on your hard drive!" What do you think? Would you be interested in any sports games in this style?

My Dukes! Short speculation question here. In an internal email, Phil Spencer specifically called out the quality of Sarah Bond’s leadership during the ABK saga, and that led me to this question: What do you think are the odds that she is being positioned to be made the head of Microsoft Gaming’s Activision-Blizzard Division once the merger closes?

Howdy Yall! I am so happy I found yall, really enjoy the show cause yall keep me informed and entertained each week. While I dont play Xbox much myself, my wife and 5 kids do so they have 4 Xbox systems in the house against my PS5 & Switch. My questions, I am curious to know some origin stories of things I connect with both of you on. For Cog I also work in the IT field, so I would like to know what got you started in that field? For Matty, I love anime and manga and want to know how you into them? Thanks for keeping this busy dad entertained

Hello mr.lord beefy and mr. wrong taste in Mac Matty, I just finished watching the destiny show and I will be honest…. They got my money. Sow I want lord cog to give matty an overview of what’s to come to see if we can add mr. Matty play to the list of people who love, hate and complain about the game, but can’t put it down . Have a bungie got money for another year kind of day (😭).

Dearest Dukes, My son is 2 months old at this point but I figure it's never too early to plan his introduction to video games. I know I'm talking to two childless dudes, but I want your opinions nonetheless. Do you think it's worth trying to show my kid the old greats from the 8 bit or 16 bit days, or should I start him out with something modern that will be more visually appealing and control better? I don't think a 5 year will be all that picky, but hey you never know with these crazy kids these days. Thanks, and have a "somehow this child of an Xbox gamer grew up to be a Sony pony" kind of day.

What up Malevolent Matty and Calamitous Cog, What was your game of the show for ONL at Gamescom and why was it Crimson Desert? Seriously that game looks amazing. It's like a fever dream coagulation of all of my favorite games, but I also have my worries. Pearl Abyss has also announced Plan 8 and DokeV since 2019. Both showed some exceptional, hard to believe gameplay and graphics and we have not heard about those games since. I'm thinking it's similar to Phantom Blade 0 where they get a vertical slice up, but don't have any real gameplay to back it yet (although Pearl Abyss' Black Desert did look and play great last gen to their credit). Should I be worried or am I just over thinking it and Pearl Abyss is actually that guy. Maybe Pearl Abyss is gonna set the world on fire and they're just waiting to prove it. What do the Dukes think? Have an "oops I just broke NDA on Starfield and it wasn't edited out" kinda day!

Hey Boys, What was up with that opening night for gamescon. Geoff seems to forget we are here for the games. Why on God's green earth does he spend time on music, cosplay, movies, and talking to devs before showing us a trailer. Leave this stuff for after the conference. He even wasted Todd Howard, who basically just went up there to say "get excited". This seems to be common theme with Geoff whether it's this , summer game fest or the game awards. Anyway what do you boys think?

Greetings Dukes, With the Starfield embargo ending next Thursday at noon, can we expect your full, first impressions on that episode of Defining Duke?

Hey Super Meat Bros, I wanted to write in and talk about Halo Infinite's latest resurgence and positive sentiment among the Halo community. It seems as though the community is really happy about where the game is currently and the steam player base reflects that as it has had two straight months of increased numbers. Have you guys checked out the game lately and what do you think Halo Infinite needs to do to keep up the momentum? Thanks and have a just pre-ordered the Starfield Premium Upgrade Kinda day!

Dick Justice

Greetings Dukes, This is just a quick shout out for Matty to check out the Sonic show on Netflix. Sonic Prime, it's better then it has any right to be! That is all. Have a, Starfield is so good I'm going to get myself blacklisted by praising it when I know I'm not allowed to talk about it, kind of day!

DUKES- First, great run of DD Ultimate recently. Activision wishlist games, the handheld deep dive-- I can't wait for the Starfield episodes. Following your podcast, I impulse-purchased the ROG Ally. I have a switch and steam deck, and the ROG Ally has become my favorite handheld. Early impression, it is a MUST PURCHASE for any major Game Pass or Xbox User. I love my switch, but the frames and performance are original Xbox One levels. Additionally, I kept having buyer's remorse because every switch game I bought, came to Game Pass (deaths door, slay the spire, monster train, etc). With the Steam deck, I got xbox cloud working, but it had consistent performance problems and screen tears. Here comes the Rog Ally- game pass integration, instantly had 40 games downloaded (including Persona 5 and Yakuza like a dragon for my gaming dads), and it has remote play so I can jump into diablo and destiny while I watch TV. My question- will Xbox help fix the following: PC game pass requiring multiple additional installs (ubisoft download in order to play immortals, EA download, Riot Download, these games not just working on PC game pass alone) Will I ever get access to my entire xbox library: having bought diablo digital, I was hoping to just download and play- I'm not a PC gamer so not seeing it in the Xbox app but seeing games like cuphead was off-putting

Hey Dukes! I know I already wrote in on this thread, but I wanted to ask if you’re getting the Persona 3 Reload collector’s edition from VGP? It looks rad!

Subject: Video Editing Process Duke Boys, I always wondered how long the video editing process actually takes when it comes to YouTube. If it really is as simple as chopping off the ends of webcam footage, making sure the audio is synced-up, and hitting File Save As Podcast...why aren't more people doing it? I'd love to know more about your individual processes. Have a I've heard so much about Starfield, I feel liked I've already played it kinda day.

Hello Matty and I Dream of Gene… e Lads I have a wonderful way to get some time off work for a certain star game. On September 1st I am getting a vasectomy and with that a day off work. Is this madness or is perhaps my greatest idea yet? Have a stepped in dog doo kinda day.

NotSkyWalker

Dearest Matty & Gene, I apologize for a lengthy write-in: Now that we recognize Armored Core is utterly superb and also see Armored Core VI has an OpenCritic aggregate of 85, one point lower than Halo Infinite's, can we now officially denounce all 'Halo Bad' discourse? This is, of course, said in jest as a provocative Segway into saying, “wow, the new guard at 343i has really turned the ship around.” Halo Infinite’s numbers are surging on Xbox and in Twitch viewership; we are even seeing new spikes in Steam players despite that not being the best metric to analyze Halo player count. Halo API, a more reliable source, tells a similar story. Forge has been incredible, and the custom games browser will reliably get you into a custom game in mere seconds. Over 11 maps have been added to formal matchmaking in Season 4 alone, with weekly changes to rotational playlists and a phenomenal 8v8 Squad Battle playlist joining the permanent ranks. Credible leaks show upcoming PvE content is inevitable, with Firefight coming as soon as October 17 with the launch of Season 5. “If we lose our way with Halo, we lose our way with Xbox,” Phil Spencer once said. The early live service efforts for Halo Infinite were indeed “lost,” and so was Xbox in 2022. Yet here we are… 2023… and finally, if feels like “we’re back.” Naturally, Halo had to make its triumphant resurgence alongside Xbox as a platform… and it has. The brakes are broken, the train won’t stop, but there is always room for more passengers - we recently had a DD Discord Halo session go till 4 in the morning! It’s an absolute blast right now. Have a “My Mec and Warthog both run off Southern Mac-N-Cheese” Kind of Day, -Aidan

Mr. Scott If You're Nasty

To the Dukedom, I just gotta say, it's looking from the outside that Microsoft knows they have an absolute banger in Starfield (Start screens aside *rolls eyes*). They are exuding confidence like I haven't seen before. My wife wants to play Remnant II, but I don't think I have the time to finish before Starfield. Told her the final frontier waits for no man or woman. Best of days to you gents. Love the show.

Ubisoft will be getting the cloud publishing rights for activision/blizzard games in the UK! This could go either way, but the optimist in me hopes this will allow Ubisoft more freedom to take chances on new IP and change up their formula. What do ya think boys? [Don't include both my write ins]
