Hey guys. I’m a little confused the reasoning why Microsoft bought Bethesda in the first place. As far as I understand Starfield was aimed to be a PlayStation exclusive just as PlayStation did for Ghost wire and Deathloop. But those games were timed exclusives and eventually made there way on Xbox giving it another pop. I say this as a person that loves Bethesda games but disappointed that starfield will now probably never come to PlayStation. In all honesty I would be happy to pay 70$ for starfield but Microsoft seemingly does not want that money. In what way does this make sense and give players options when starfield would be lock down on a subscription service with no other major console platform release. Again the exclusives PlayStation got from Bethesda were timed exclusive so how is it fair for Microsoft to strip away Bethesda games from PlayStation entirely? To me it all feels very contradictory

Whats up dookie heads? Wanted to write in this week to share the absolutely horrible cringe embarrassment I just went through with you guys and the LSM audience… anonymously. So I have an alternate Twitter account I use for interacting with internet content creators. Don't need the old high school folks judgin me am I right? So I was retweeting a giveaway, and I decided to search my main account on my alt so I could repost it. To my horror, I type my own name into the search bar of twitter.com, and see this OLD dead account from when I was like 14 pop up. Apparently I never deactivated it. If the black and white, emo hair, baby faced profile pic wasn't bad enough, the account is full of BLATANT emo band, fanboy cringe, and apparently my dumbass even tagged a popular girl from my school in a tweet that has a dead link, with the caption "I told you I'd be getting some xD". WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING? What does that mean?? That doesn't even sound like me! Hopefully my shame will bring a laugh to someone out there. Lord Incog-barassment, and Mr Matty Makes An Oopsie, have you ever experienced such soul sinking shame? Thanks and have a 'glad I moved away' kinda day.

Hey boys, Turn 10 announced that Forza Motorsport will be missing multiple legacy features with the most notable being split screen. I'm growing increasingly frustrated over Microsoft's inability to release a feature complete game, particularly one that's already been delayed. In addition, split screen being missing is no doubt a Series S issue again. If Microsoft's own developers are struggling with the Series S then what hope do we have for 3rd party devs?

Good day Dukes, Hear ye, hear ye! This is the official opportunity to let our boy King Matty cook. I know you saw the teaser over the weekend. Why is TMNT: The Last Ronin worth checking out and what are your hopes for the game adaptation? Cheers and thanks for all the #healthiswealth coverage lately. You guys are motivating a lot of people, myself included.

Hello Dukes, I know I'm a bit late to the convo but a previous episode the conversation went in the direction of discussing the series X consoles being reserved for cloud. I think that the next generation of consoles may be among the last as all companies will try and eliminate the hardware entirely. Curious how soon you think this would be a reality.

Hey, Dukes! With rumors that Starfield review codes are dropping later this week, I just wanted to comment on how specifically happy I am for Matty that we've made it to this moment. As a long time viewer of the MrMattyPlays channel, little did we know that when your initial speculation around the IP trademark in 2017 began, we'd be in for a 6 year slog before finally being able to get our hands on the game. Felt like a lifetime ago. HOLD THE LINE BOYS, WE'RE ALMOST HOME!

Hello Duke's, This one is specifically geared towards matty. I know you are making a game, and game development is interesting to you. If you were to be approached by Bethesda Game Studios for a position in the company, would you make the jump and work for them, even if it meant that podcasting would be much more difficult/near impossible in the future, particularly relating to Bethesda games? Thanks

G'day Lads, This question is Call of Duty and Activision related. Yesterday i came across a video that goes into the topic of how unsafe playing call of duty is on PC. That doing so, actively puts yourself at risk of RAT's. (Remote Access Trojan) A RAT can happen Simply by playing any of your old favourite COD games online on PC. This could potentially open you up to hackers gaining access to your computer, and all your information along with it. To combat these blatant security risks developers created modded client servers to play the games safely. But a while back some servers had been taken down with cease and desist orders from Activision. It's upsetting that Activision are more concerned about their bottom line, rather than providing safe and consumer friendly products for people to play and enjoy. With the acquisition of Activision, Do you think Microsoft and even steam. Should be in a moral if not legal responsibility to notify, fix or even just outright stop selling these games until issues are taken care of. Mabye by allowing modded services to come back, They could create a Master cheif collection for call of duty on Xbox and PC. Thanks and Much love gentlemen. P.s. for reference the video is "COD is full of RATS and we are their CHEESE".

Hey Dukes, Last week Matty lamented the rumor of a digital only Series X citing game preservation being an important consideration for Xbox. Matty, my Baked Mac and Cheese Brother in Christ, Game Pass is the singularity event that's killed ANY sense of game ownership, physical or otherwise. I have more ownership over my digital copy of Final Fantasy XVI than anything on Game Pass should I subscribe. You are more likely (and provenly so) that a game rotates out of Game Pass and thus lose any access to it than a digital license for a game you've bought to vanish. There's practically nothing more destructive of game preservation/ownership that Sony could do short of Jim Ryan personally shooting me in the face. I hate to red pill you like this but Xbox are the bad guys here should you care about this. Thanks and have a "my platform killed physical games but I'm pretending not to notice" kind of day

Hangman Matty & CM Punk Cog, I took the plunge on AEW: Fight Forever and despite it having some issues, on the whole I enjoyed it. What was unusual about my playthrough was that I actually went after the Platinum Trophy. I very rarely go after trophies or achievements, unless after finishing a game “organically” I can grab the remaining tasks with relative ease. In this instance, going after all that the game had to offer definitely gave me a bit more of an appreciation for the game. I discovered new moves, learnt a bit about how the wrestlers’ unique abilities work and generally found that the core experience had more depth than I first thought. My question – Have the Dukes ever had a playthrough of a game improved by going after achievements or trophies? Have a “Do I book some time off work for Starfield?” Kinda Day

Hey diet regulating Dukes, This question is specifically for Matty, I want to ask how your migraines usually play out. Are they mostly headaches or do you have any bonus DLC effects like numbness or visual artifacts? I've had migraines ever since my early teens, but they are so rare (about once per quarter), that I can never seem to find their exact causes. You've mentioned last week that tyramine and histamine and screens in general have been causing them, but are their any other players on the field? I've personally found that large changes in temperature or even pressure cause them for me. That being said, I'm stoked that your health is on the upswing! Have a "Cog snorting creatine from a 100$ bill off of Matty's ass" Kind of day :)

Mets loving Matty and Cog, If Matty and Cog were stuck on an island, and the only way to get off was to both agree on the best Xbox CEO who would it be? Have a “Happy Birthday Sean” type of day.

Hey creamy matty plays and beefcognito, Just wanted to add a little context to what you mentioned on duke ultimate regarding fsr and dlss and the implementation in Starfield. While dlss is the more fleshed out version of ai upscaling, is should be mentioned that both the series consoles and the ps5 are amd based systems. And with the full brunt of Microsoft behind the making of this game making sure everything works good from the get, it makes sense that Starfield would partner with amd, and possibly work better with amd hardware because of the relationship with the consoles hardware. I’d wager that fsr will work quite well on this particular title. Anyway, other then being a great Xbox podcast, this is definitely one of my feel good podcasts and appreciate the positivity the brothers duke brings to the community Have a im buying a amd radeon graphics card to get Starfield free kind of day!

With the release of Starfield edging closer, a question for the Dukes: what will you consider to be an acceptable level of bugs or poor performance when you get your hands on the game? Being a Bethesda game, we already know this is in the cards to some extent, but where do you draw the line? Pop-in? Single digit frames per second? Crashing to desktop? Characters flying a thousand feet into the air after being hit?

Hey Dukes, I just wanted to write in to thank Matty for sharing his story last week. My girlfriend is going through something similar (albeit not as bad!), and vestibular migraines have been brought up. It's so nice to hear that there are non-medication options available! Have you been able to pinpoint a specific food as a cause? Thanks for all you do and much love

Tyee

Hey dukies Why do people always try to back seat game? just let people enjoy the games how they want to play them. I say all this because recently you got some people trying to tell others not to save scum in their own game also the same people saying this cheats the game. My philosophy is if whatever you can do in game is possible and you get what you want no one else should butt in with their opinions. Have a “there’s a annoying passenger in the back seat that I’m going to kick out of this dam car” type of day

Yo Dukes, I’m just writing in to collect my flowers. I remember writing in a while back and suggesting xbox making an exclusive TMNT game. Although this isn’t exclusive, I feel like I willed a TMNT game into existence. What shall I will into existence next? Maybe a Daredevil game? Ninja Gaiden reboot? Let me know and I’ll work my magic. Have a “Sony just money hatted TMNT The Last Ronin like they did Stellar Blade” kinda day!

Greetings Mets Fan 1 and Mets Fan 2, Starfield will be my first BGS title to experience at launch (technically Early Access, thank you Game Pass!). With social media being even more a part of my life what is the best way to avoid spoilers but still take part in the actual discussion of the game? Are story spoilers a big part of BGS games or is it similar to Elden Ring, where the sense of discovery and exploration is what people will be sharing and discussing? Thanks Dukes, Have a the Mets don't have to play the Braves kinda day.

Greetings Dukes, I have a bad situation with a silver lining and a question for you guys. After suffering a knee dislocation, I had to have corrective surgery this week. Having a very physical job, this puts me out of work until the end of September at the earliest. Obviously, being injured sucks and you never want it to happen. But what if it could happen right when Starfield is coming out? I've been a BGS for years and can't think of a better game to have on deck between physical therapy appointments. Have either of you ever had an injury or illness that lined up with a big game release? Keep up the great work and have a, my leg is killing me but I have three weeks to explore the cosmos, kind of day.

Good day to you Dukes! A less controversial topic from me today in the court of the Dukes. Two weeks ago we heard from Matty that he is currently playing as a wood elf ranger and Cog stated he is getting into his Martial bag with the Monk. This makes me wonder, do either of you have a preferred character type or build when playing an RPG or a character building type games? And I mean this for both on the console, PC and table top. Personally for me I'm someone who's always going to gravitate towards a charisma build. Ever since seeing the crazy stuff that you could do in choice and consequences type of games, if you are persuasive enough (like skipping past the first fight of a certain boss in Mass Effect by making them off themselves.) On top of that, I'm also partial to magic users or as close as I can get to it. With that combination, there's little surprise I'm currently Barding it up in Baldur's Gate 3. So once again, what are your defaults when it comes time to role playing in games? Have a "I just spent an hour and a half creating a character for BG3 and think I'm about to start playing the game. But come to find out I need to create a guardian for myself as well. Unleashing another fresh hell of character creation!" Kind of day.

Hello Neutral Good Cog and Neutral Neutral Matty, I finally got around to reading the Last Ronin which was fantastic. Here is my question: The Last Ronin is the book of Defining Duke and Marvel’s Midnight suns is the game of Defining Duke. What is the Defining Duke movie? Thanks and I hope you have, got a baby coming in September with 3 weeks of parental leave for Starfield and Baldurs gate 3 kind of day.

Hey Dukes! Hope you're both doing well. I have a potentially bad habit of binging my games. The most recent game I remember binging is Resident Evil 4 and I think I completed around 4 or 5 playthroughs in a week or 2. Game was amazing but after this I don't really ever want to touch it again. Do you guys think there's more enjoyment to be had from slowly picking away at games? Sometimes I feel like I'm doing it wrong.

Hey Dukes, I'm sure by now you've see all the news surrounding Linus Tech Tips, I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the subject, and also why do you think these stories in the tech/gaming world always seem to involve toxic levels misogyny towards women? Totally understand this is a pretty full on question, but just thought I'd ask.

Hustle&Motiv8

Hey Dukes, Quick question am I weird for preferring to listening to podcasts while exercising? What do you guys listen to while getting fit?

Greetings Dukes, With Balder's Gate 3 not making it on Xbox platforms before the Game Awards this year, are they still a contender going up against games like Hogwarts Legacy which did launch timely on all essential gaming platforms? Thank you Dukes, love the show!

Sirs! The MK1 pre-order beta is this weekend and I cannot contain my excitement! Will either of you be hopping in to play some matches? Thanks!

Hello Dukes, I have a question for ya'll; where is the Redfall 60FPS patch? It's been well over four months now and the fact Xbox went radio silent on their public blunder save for a balance patch in June isn't a good look. Do you think Redfall will get the patch sometime this crowded holiday season where it could get soft relaunch? Or is it dead like the vampires themselves?

Hello Matty and Cog, long time listener and first time write-in. I’ll make it quick. Have either of you seen the new Mets Mommy mascot and if so, would you smash? I know nothing about baseball but I now have a Mets jersey coming in the mail. Good day to you both and looking forward to hearing y’alls opinions on Wrestle Quest.

Sup guys, So with September coming up should I start a new game or wait for Starfield? I just finished Elden Ring (first time finishing a from game wow!) I have my pre order in so Sept first is locked in, any smaller games you guys recommend? I'm thinking Dredge, would love to get some feedback on smaller games that you like or think deserve some shine.

What if Xbox bought Bioware? Could it happen?

Hello dukes thanks for always putting on an awesome show. I have two questions for this week. First, with Starfield going gold is there any chance that Xbox/Bethesda will release it to early access any earlier to be in the good graces of the people? Second I’ve never been really good about getting into the lore of video games, any tips on how to be better at it before going into Starfield?

Salutations CDC This one's for Colin. I got married to my girl friend of seven years last June. Let me just quash this myth of having to pick out a gift for your soon to be wife. Both myself and my now wife did about as much wedding research as humanly possible before our wedding, and there was no mention of any gift giving. I will say this however. A week after our wedding my wife asked me "so what are you going to buy yourself with the money you received?". You see, it was my intention to save all the money we received to put towards a down payment on a house, but realizing it's Polish custom to treat yourself (my wife is Polish), I decided to get myself a next gen console. Regrettably, I opted for a Series X, but that's not the point here. I say, enjoy your wedding Colin, and enjoy it in the knowledge that you get to treat yourself to something nice once the party is over. I'd also like to add that I recall you questioning whether it was good wedding etiquette to have a pancake table for guests. Well, I had a pancake table at my wedding complete with fresh fruits and a smorgasbord of syrups, sauces and treats to accompany it. It went down a storm and I'd highly recommend it.
