Welcome back to Last Stand Media's conversational podcast, Constellation. This week, the Brothers Moriarty welcome Sacred Symbols co-host Chris Ray Gun and LSM theme composer Ramon Narvaez. This meaty episode starts off with a bang, as Dagan chronicles his recent week-long camping excursion that brought him into the woods of Maryland with his son's Boy Scout troop. Meanwhile, Ramon wants to talk about older people playing video games, or in many cases not playing them. Was the Baby Boomer generation uniquely unequipped for this new mode of entertainment? Chris is curious about our thoughts on famous people, and those that lose touch with the world around them as their coffers grow. Finally, Colin goes with a current event, the SAG-AFTRA and writers strikes, which have brought Hollywood to a standstill. Why don't media companies care more about the people who make their enterprises go?

My uncle is named Colin, but pronounced like “colon”. I never understood it.

Finally some genuine good topics! Also, Ramon's voice is always so soothing. It's like butter on a good hot croissant.

If you like the idea of a comedy about nuclear weapons, Stanley Kubrick’s “Dr Strangelove” is a great one.

Where was the backlash and care when jobs like printers, manual machinists and auto mechanics pre 2010 and countless other jobs got axed because of dumb regulations or new tech. Oh wait now it’s your job and livelihood that’s under the gun, now you care? It’s a joke, no one made these people take these contracts or live in very expensive places. I was a printer from 2000-2008, it was a mistake and went to school and moved onto another career that valued my skills. It’s lazy, jealous humps that whine for unions. Union shops are a bane, because when 50% of these chumps get laid off they come work at a real shop and have no skills and end up getting fired at the end. Stop being a victim, in this country, you get what you put into it and I have no pity for those that think they are owed something when they have done nothing to earn it.

Ramon is an extremely interesting addition to Constellation, specifically. He has a very unique perspective on different topics that I appreciate a lot and would love to hear more from him in the future!

Hey Colin, your best friend seems line a good egg. Also I just smoked a lot of pot.

Daniel Margaca

Im a set dresser for TV and Film Union. The show I was on officially shutdown last week cause of the strike. I can’t wait to listen to this episode on my run tomorrow.

Adam Barnes

“You can’t really fathom how much space there is here” Okay Colin, some of your listeners are Australian pal 🤣

NeO JD

Hope you guys win sooner rather than later. ❤️

Carlos

Really like how thoughtful Ramon is with his responses

My parents were going to name me Colin, BUT my mom didn’t like it because of the whole Colon as nickname thing as kids. Instead they named me Drew. My name is Drew Lee…rhymes with Poo Pee. I heard that a lot growing up lol. Had to post because Colin to Colon comment.

Another insanely entertaining episode. You know it’s a great topic when everyone is always accidentally interrupting each other haha

KojiMOM, the title of the let’s play series practically writes itself.

Anthony Palerino

Love how philosophical this one got, Ramon is awesome.

I hate the fucking eagles, man The Dude

Napoleon in Rags

Straight Talk: I see the episode length and don’t even bother listening. My only problem with Constellation episodes is that their too long. Be Pithy right?

Zeldaholic

Counter point: I much prefer when these topics don’t feel rushed and like an organic conversation. Fuck pithy when I wanna fall down rabbit holes with the folks talking. It kinda feels like the whole point of the show, right?

Lou & Rei Loper

Holy shit Ramon!!! I can't believe you walked out of Iron Monkey 🤯🤯

I'm very happy Ramon is going to start appearing more. He's such a good podcaster

Ramon bringing up oddworld Abe's oddysee is wild

When I was 12 years old, me and a group of friends went to watch The Social Network at the cinema because one of my friends had heard it was a raunchy teen comedy about the creation of Facebook, and none of the rest of us knew anything about the movie. We all walked out after about 45 minutes.

About the part about being recognized: at Kinda Funny live 2 I hugged all the KF guys at the meet & greet table except Colin. I was too shy to say something about it, but I always hoped he understood it was out of respect for him because he once mentioned feeling weird about that :-)

Ramon really needs to learn to articulate his points better. He would go on and on, often times hogging the conversation, and his tangents would be so far off topic that I would start wondering if the topic changed. It was really hard to follow.

I think I agree. Don’t wanna be hard on him because he is relatively new to podcasting (I assume?)…but I genuinely forgot what the topic was on two occasions because of his irrelevant tangents. Still enjoyed what he had to say though.

I don't know anything about TikTok at all, but Deftones has been my favorite band without QUESTION since 1996. What a weird thing to hear, I thought TikTok was like that other Snapchat thing (which I also admittedly know nothing about lol). As a matter of fact, I listen to Fireal (from Adrenaline) as the very first song in every car or audio device I buy. Every. Single. Time. Deftones forever 🤘😍🤘

Chris Adams

Any chance of ever getting time stamps for this show?

Simon Pusateri

"Plants love carbon" is such a massively broad statement. Global warming is not good for plants, especially not the ones that we rely on in an agricultural sense.

Brandon Wall

Loved this episode! Great group, chemistry and loved the topics too!
