Hey Punching Up Crew! With Disney on the decline & Nintendo on the rise (theme park's film video games merch) Is it safe to say that Mario has usurped Mickey Mouse as the most iconic fictional character in history across all entertainment period? The switch had sold 125+ million the movie has made over $1 billion & we still have Super Nintendo World Coming to Singapore China & Florida (after Japan/Hollywood). Mario is my favorite video game character so there is bias on my part however It was crowded when I visited the Hollywood Park & every other movie except Mario has been flopping or underperforming this year. Thank you you guys/gals.

Hello mushroom eaters, With Dagan's recent antics in the forest, it got me thinking what are the rest of the crew's camping experiences? With all the horrible stories you hear about it makes me wonder why it continues to be a favorite hobby for some people. Bugs everywhere, sleeping on the ground in a flimsy tent, constant threat of bear attacks, no internet. None of this sounds very fun in my humble opinion, but to each their own. Cheers and thanks for all things LSM!

Hey Nintendo Lords, We know that Disney games and Nintendo had a lot of history in the 80s and 90s, but that disappeared for a while. It might be coming back with Disney's Illusion Island, a metroidvania with no combat. How do we feel about this game and could this create a repeat partnership?

Hi there goomba punchers, So Pikmin 4 is finally out, after a decade or so of wait since Pikmin 3. Did any of you guys get it or the demo? are you enjoying it so far? What's your favorite Pikmin game? Hope those aren't too many questions ;) Keep eating that 1-up

Luis N.

Please talk about 2023 Nintendo games that dropped before the show’s first episode - So that includes Fire Emblem Engage, Metroid Prime Remastered, and Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp. Thanks! 🙏 Also, the Super Mario Bros movie is dropping on Peacock on August 3!

Salutations Malefactors, A game I enjoyed on switch that's different than my normal play was Yoku's Island, a pinball platformer with a wacky yet cozy feel. Im also looking forwards to hearing Micah's review of Xenoblade! Moogle Meg.

Hey Punching Up Crew, First, I want to let you all know you’re my favorite collection of personalities at LSM. Micah should start her own comedy podcast because she’s literally made me LOL more than any LSM crew member in the last few months! In regard to podcast games to play, I would love to hear y’all’s thoughts on Astral Chain. It’s an fun game and my favorite Platinum-developed game behind Vanquish. Dustin, I know you’re excited for Armored Core 6 in August, but I would like to ask what is everyone’s excitement level for Sabotage-developed Sea of Stars coming on August 29? As a huge Chrono Trigger fan, I can’t wait for it. Thanks for the excellent content, y’all! Your Sweet Baby Ray

Good day my star collecting, heart piece gathering bunch! I know you all attempt to run a clean show for us Nintendoers, but how can one be clean when the history of Nintendo has one of the dirtiest platform titles in the industry. I'm talking Conker's Bad Fur Day! Slipped in at the end of the N64 lifecycle, this comedy game exclusive by Rare in its heyday, was a pleasant, raunchy game of delight. Using characters of cute to juxtapose the profane. I was just wondering what your experience was with this title and any memories you may have with it. Cheers and keep on block-busting!

Jose Vera

Hola Punching Up Crew! Gotta say was hesitant to try a another nintendo centric podcast but have been hooked since day one with the flow and topics of the show! I am about 25 hours into FF XVI and have been missing some deeper mechanics so I decided to try out Fire Emblem Engage! So far have been liking the story and loving its more turn base JRPG action. It brings back fond memories playing countless hours of FF Tactics on the GBA SP. Now to the question what other titles do you recommend for someone like me who has not owned a Nintendo console/handheld SINCE the GBA SP. I feel even being a day one adopter of the Switch I have missed so many titles. Would love to hear your thoughts! PS Gene Xenoblade is next on my list! Your glowing recommendation of the story and gameplay has me intrigued! Thank you for the awesome content! Jose

Hey guys! Wondering how you are liking Pokémon Sleep! I love sleep tracking and find it pretty fun to progress just by snoozing - and it seems fairly accurate to boot! It’s also hilarious to see how Nintendo has crammed in all the currencies and systems to try and keep people hooked. Will any of you commit to a FULL YEAR of daily Pokémon sleep?? Let’s go all the way! Let’s keep fattening up that Snorlax!!

Hey fellows, what's the best og Pokemon game of all time!?

Hey Punching Posse, After seeing the Super Mario RPG trailer, I am not yet loving the art style but maybe I’m being a traditionalist snob. Thinking on this, what is your favorite art style for a remake of an older game. HD-2D Papercraft Tilt-Shift 2.5D Pixel Full-on AAA 3D I’d say that for the Mario RPG, I would lean in the side of papercraft. Thanks, and keep on brickin’

Nicholas Brilhart

Greetings Fisters. I've gotta know how things are coming along with Dustin on Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. And for everyone else what is your biggest Nintendo blind spot that you want to address?

Cameron

Hey GMDD, If it is confirmed that the new switch is back compat with current switch, would you recommend waiting for the new switch to get into the ecosystem? I’ve never played Zelda but am really wanting to play TOTK with everything I’ve heard about it plus other titles.

Tanner Lange

Hello Wrecking Crew! With the Mario Wonder coming out on October 20th, do you guys think Nintendo will release a special edition OLED switch? If so what would you guys like to see on the console and potential pro controller? Love the show, and keep up the great work!

Tanner Lange

Also, something that I think would be cool for the show would be NSO pick off the week, similar to the Dukes Game pass pick of the week. Would this be something you guys would potentially do?

towtansua

Well maybe the Wii u is a Xenoblade X machine but I had many many good hours with it. Plus mine still has flappy bird on it.

Daimen Cianci

Greetings my pikmen and pikwoman, I would like to ask you all about motion controls. Given Nintendo is the biggest proponent of motion controls in gaming, what do you think are its best and worst implementations? And do you have any favorite motion control exclusive games? Yours Truly, Daimen [day-min]

HORSE the Patron

Hello perverts! Star Ocean 2 is one of my all time favorite RPGs, I put a few hundred hours into the original PS1 release when it came out, and a game I feel is really special. When it was announced during the Direct that it was getting a remake I was so incredibly happy. However, after the Direct there was not a whole lot of excitement for the game online, and I hope this remake will allow people to see how great it is. My question for you all is: what game do you absolutely adore that you don't understand why it's not more popular? Thanks for the show, enjoy hearing what you all bring every episode!

Tacoyaki

Hey there P-Uppers Are any of you guys besides Dustin playing Master Detective Archives: Rain Code? If so what are your thoughts? Do you guys like Shinigami-chan being the new “Monokuma” mascot character for the game and possibly the series going forward? Thanks as always, and keep on keeping on!

Hey Dustin and the Punching Up crew. Loving the show guys. Really adding value to the LSM package. What for you is the GOAT Nintendo console? If you had to choose one home console or handheld, which one has top spot in your hearts? Has to be GameCube for me. So many good memories of that little purple box. Thanks as always and keep fisting those bricks.

Your Boi Nicky V

Hey Micah and the Small Willy Trio, Random question, what are your thoughts on the hottest Nintendo exclusive in existence, MGS: The Twin Snakes? I always loved the over the top cutscenes as a child and think the hate is a little overblown. Sure the soundtrack sucks, and the Ocelot fight is ruined, but I think it's a more playable alternative to the original. Cheers cuties, Nick

Alex

Hello all I play my switch while walking on my treadmill, sometimes for multiple hours, which means I fly through games but I can’t play very heavy action games or I lose concentration and end up tripping etc which can be pretty disastrous! I find J RPGs the best for this I’m currently flying though persona 5 and have 3&4 ready for afterwards but are there any other slower paced games you’d recommend? Thanks

Levelupbrady

Greetings, everyone! I wanted to express my enthusiasm for this podcast and commend all of you for the fantastic job you've been doing. I'm curious to know if any of you are planning to try out "Vampire Survivor," which is set to be released on Switch in August. Personally, I can't wait for it and would be thrilled to hear your thoughts and opinions on the matter. Thank you, and I wish you all a wonderful week ahead!

The Snacksquatch

Hey guys, Dustin, how are you liking raincode? This game caught my eye, I never played any of the danganronpa games. Could you discuss what the game is like/gameplay? Thanks for all you do.

Mars Barrow

Hi LSM friends. Would you rather sleep with Mario, Luigi or Toad? - Mars from Minnesota

Hey Punchers, How do you see Nintendo moving forward with the Mario Kart and Smash Bros. franchises when you consider that the most recent games have such large amounts of content? It would seem that a future Mario Kart 9 without every track in existence would be considered a disappointment by many fans. Personally, I'd be fine with a smaller selection of new high quality tracks but I also suspect I'm in the minority on that opinion. Same thing with Smash Bros. and the size of the roster. Cheers and thanks for the great content. Clark Petri

Sean Mason

Greetings Nintendo Nerds, Many Nintendo villains have become iconic in their own right, from Bowser and Ganon to King Dedede and Ridley. If you could design a game centered around one of these notorious villains, which character would you choose and what type of game genre would best suit their unique personality and abilities? Best, Sean M.

Hello MushroomHeads, Hope y’all are doing well. What are the chances of Nintendo skipping a new smash bros next generation like they did with Mario Kart on the switch? I could see Nintendo re-releasing Ultimate with all the DLC for full price on the next console, this would give Sakurai a small break to figure out how to reinvent the game. After all it feels the current formula has peaked. Thank You Shroomheads, but Our Princess is in Another Castle.

NeO JD

Hello Z Buttons. Someone supposedly posted photos of the upcoming PS Q-Lite. (I posted the link down below) What do you think of the screen size? Do you think the Switch 2 will have a screen similar in size or the same size as the current Switch OLED? How big is too big for a portable screen? Thanks and have a Nintendo isn’t going to buy any companies and still outsell Xbox kind of day. https://twitter.com/zuby_tech/status/1682655533122179072?s=46

I’ve got a rog ally now so who needs a stinky switch anymore. JK With all this knew competition out there now will Nintendo step their game up with switch 2 or whatever they call the next console… maybe I.C.U.Wii Have a great day smashing each others bros.

OTTAPPS

My Nintendo Nerds, With Punching Up finding its feet and smashing it out of the park, it begs the question: Will Punching Up get official representation on the Sacred Symbols x Defining Duke cross over (making it SS x DD x PU)? You have these two entities locked in an endless squabble, surely it is time for you NintenDogs to walk in, slap your meat on the table and show them who is boss?? Keep up the great work!

Sam Lee

Hello, fisting enthusiasts. Which Nintendo IP do you think has the most unrealised potential in terms of spin-off instalments, merchandising and cross-media content(movies, anime, books, etc.)?

easelgames

Hello Mama Pikman and crew. How do you control your hype for a game and not let it get to hoype levels? "Hoy-pe" being a separate term where your expectations exceed even hype levels due to personal feelings on a game. I've been listening to Dagan talk about the FF Pixel Remasters, and hearing him just go on about FFIV while trying not to get carried away inspired this question. Do you guys have games currently, or games retroactively that you had to "check yourself" on your hype level? Did it live up to those expectations? Have a good day, and glad to see Dagan back on the podcast! -Easel

JoshM

Hey Punching Up crew, if you had to reimagine a Nintendo franchise with a dark tone, what game would it be? Maybe Resident Evil-like Luigi's Mansion, or a Super Mario game where he's hunting Bowser, out to avenge the death of Peach. Go as wild as you want. Thanks!
