The release of a new Zelda feels like an Olympic-level event. This release feels a little different due to the total domination not only in sales but also in cultural saturation. It feels like everyone is playing Tears of the Kingdom, and it makes sense since it sold 10 million copies in just three days. So, while we dive deep into the game once again, we are also lucky enough to have Gene, who interviewed the man behind the game, Eiji Aonuma, to tell us about the experience of interviewing a legend. In addition, three classic GBA games are being added to Nintendo Switch Online! Of course, with this being a Last Stand show, we filled the episode chock-full of listeners' write-ins. What makes the NES and SNES timeless? Is using the item duplication glitch in Zelda okay? What should fans of the show call themselves? We're just getting started on this show, so get in and hit play!

I’ve never understood the “don’t wear a band shirt to the bands performance”, isn’t the the main place you’d where it?

Cai

I’ve had no wifi for 4 days now and there’s a phone mast down in my area meaning I don’t have data either. Currently walking somewhere I can download this thing so I have something to do when I get home!

I wear Band shirts to concerts, and I really don't care what anyone thinks 🤷 That being said if I'm going to a concert for a band, I'll usually try to wear an older shirt. It's a lot of fun seeing all the different eras for long-lasting bands like Tool or Nine Inch Nails. I'll be wearing a 2009 T, but then someone else is rocking a 1990. I love it.

I feel like the next Mario game will be open world. I think Bowsers Fury was a little taste on what’s to come.

The Late Nate

I've been to a bunch of concerts and if I have a Tee of that band, I'm wearing it to the show. Just the other week I saw blink 182 (not everyone's cup of tea but you like what you like) and wore my 2009 tour shirt and got a bunch of comments on it from other fans, even made a few friends because of it. Definitely not a poser move

Please god no to calling the audience “stinkers.” I already hate the switch being called the “stinky switch.” Hate that word and it makes me cringe everytime I hear it. Please call us nintendorks. Definitely fitting of the audience.

The fuckin Wii wii bois. Sorry MM!

Gene Park

stinky switch makes me laugh even tho i vehemently disagree with the sentiment

Stinkling

Like there is a green cloud just coming out of the top vent that no one wants to get near. "Oh dont go near that Switch its a bit stinky"

I haven’t had any issues getting chargers for my GBA SP tbh. The only thing I’d advise you to be aware of is how easily they break if you drop them too violently, they’re pretty cheaply made.

This is pretty good. I think it's a good time to jump into the Nintendo ecosystem. I haven't owned one since the GBA. I hope the next system is backwards compatible

Hello fellow Nintendo Nerds! Firstly as a lifelong Nintendo fan since the NES, I’m glad the BEST gaming podcast company has finally launched a Nintendo podcast! Some of you may agree that one of the saddest days was the announcement that Nintendo Power magazine was ending back in December of 2012, just as the Wii U was launching. But just a short time later a bunch of Nintendo enthusiasts from various backgrounds in the gaming and publishing industry launched a Kickstarter then a Patreon for Nintendo Force Magazine! It comes out 6 times a year and it’s truly the spiritual successor to Nintendo Power. It even comes with a poster every issue as well! You guys should definitely check it out and discuss it sometime on the podcast, or even invite some of the creators on the show. I’ve been a subscriber for over 10 years and absolutely love it! It brings me back to being a kid and just being so excited to check the mailbox for the latest issue of Nintendo Power! Keep up the great work and remember A Winner is You!

Dustin, just give modern pokémon a chance, the bugs have been mostly ironed out and this latest generation is actually a fantastic game

Micah touched on this, but games that hold their value are the safest games to buy. I think GameStop still sells used BOTW for $55. If I sold mine for that much today, that’s 6 years and around 180 hours of gameplay and I’m out $5.
