You guys mention how crazy it would be to have been there during the Lincoln assassination. I recently watched a YouTube video from a game show in the 1950s. They had a guest on who was 95 (born 1860) and was present that day at the Ford's Theater. They give a news excerpt recounting what he remembers. Pretty interesting stuff, and neat we have some sort of recount in the digital era

It's great to hear about modern dating. Gene is totally right on how it's a job interview. Like Gene, I'm not good at texting either. Everything is surface level. Many times it feels like women go on dating apps for a dopamine rush on a weekend night but have no intention to meet up. The dating apps seem like they really don't want to match you up with another person since keeping you on there means more money for them.

I was lucky enough set up an interview with a WWII Ace Pilot last year, which was also the same year he turned 100. The conversation was 3 hours long and an absolute honor. This man saw the flash from the first atomic bomb and his takeaway was that the stories of war should be told so that it can be avoided. There are just a handful of these humans left to hear from sadly and I'm glad you called it out, Colin!

Its so sad ha ha, the only reason I knew Grover Cleveland was from a random Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode. The founding fathers would be turning in their graves knowing my knowledge of American history comes from cartoons with talking milkshakes and meatballs. Great episode, Gene you're killing it.

So I've actually been looking for some new low key cologne scents and um... For whatever reason Stetson doesn't work for me. Turns out Micah's Granddad smells like my 4th grade trumpet teacher. That smell is intricately intertwined with the smell of the valve oil from brass instruments for me to this day.... It's so strange how smell is so connected to memory...

Wow, I was actually unloading the dishwasher listening to this when Dagans topic came up. That's my answer too. However the part I hate the most is unloading the cutlery one by one into the drawer, though I have found if I open the drawer and just pour it all in at once, the next time I come back to the cutlery drawer it has somehow magically sorted itself out.

PSA: As a person in a relationship for 15+ years... don't ever tell your partner that "you are not going to be my priority for two weeks, and you just have to be cool with it." Video games are dope and I love them, too... but that's just not that way you talk to another human being who has decided to spend their life with you. It is possible to have a conversation with your partner about the games you're looking forward to, so maybe Gene was just being flippant and would have worded that better in retrospect.
