Xbox fans, we have reached an impasse. It's Team Delay versus Team "Get Your Game OUT!" Arkane has confirmed that Redfall, an Xbox first party exclusive, will launch at 30 FPS on consoles with 60 frames down the line. It's clear that this generation has tested the patience of fans and, naturally, this news has led to a big blow up. The optics for this situation are clearly bad, but would things be worse if Redfall were to receive a second delay? Some fans feel that it's time for Xbox to finally deliver, come hell or high water! The Dukes dive into this brewing disaster as well is if this is a "litmus test" for an inevitable Starfield 30 FPS confirmation. There is much to be said on the quality standard Xbox is setting for themselves as they seem perfectly fine with being in second place. Otherwise, the Dukes sink into Persona 3 Remake, Ravenlok's release date, another 10 year commitment by Xbox, Sonic's continued success, and much, much more!

Haven't started listening yet, and I'd play it on my PC anyway....but 30fps? Not a chance in the WORLD I'd play basically anything at 30fps haha.

I don't subscribe to game pass even though Xbox is my primary console because I mostly only buy games when they're heavily discounted. I also don't need Gold since free to play games don't require it. I'm sure it's a great service, but it doesn't align with my gaming habits. Game pass could have all of the biggest #justone games, but I probably won't be playing Hellblade 2 until a year after launch. Redfall will be at 60 by the time I get to it.

Matty, gotta have more confidence in our Rangers. Also, 30fps,always online, lack of story progression for co-op for the non host, add all that on top of its released sandwiched between jedi survivor and tears of the kingdom, just delay it. That release timing was already gonna have it disappear in the media cycle.

Gotham Knights got a 60 fps patch??? My version doesn’t run at 60 fps. I’m pretty sure it’s fully updated.

I'm over here laughing in pcmasterrace power, I hope they get the console version rocking at at least 60fps in the near future, but I have zero doubt that I'll be able to run it at a high fps on PC. Hopefully she's rocking at 120-144fps all day, but we'll see. 👍

I'm also mostly a PC gamer but there hasn't been much to laugh about in the PC space recently. Most of the time we get the worst versions of games.

I think console gamers are in for a big shock when the next tranche of current gen only games come out. When has a Bethesda mainline game ever been released at 60fps on a console?

Do you guys think the reason why they restricted the preview to single player is because the 4 player co op was too unstable to show at that stage? I'm very sure that is the case

I think games media is overplaying the need for 60 fps. Coming from a PC Gamer, i love high FPS, but never expected it in consoles and still dont.

1440p and 60 FPS should be the bare minimum and is completely fine.

It's a shooter? And its mostly single player? Doom Eternal is another Bethesda title and looks great, and is 60fps? Call of duty come out every year and are 60FPS? Deathloop I believe is 60fps? ANd that was a Arkane title, not arkane austin but still arkane? They purposely showed the game on PC to press, and then MS never intervened? They did with starfield because it was in even rougher shape last year. MS being hands off on a developer/publishing house that has inconsistency with specific studios within Zenimax. MS cant even get Halo right? So when do we start raising the red flag?

I think you misinterpreted Nicky V's (might've gotten the name wrong) question @1 hour 40 minutes. I think they were getting at the idea of Game Pass providing less of an incentive to stick with a game because there's less of a financial investment via the subscription model than if you were to buy it a la carte. Which personally I find to be true to a certain extent. But instead you guys just started talking about playstation style exclusives? This was a question specifically about the financial implications of games pass and how that might affect someone's game consumption. Not about the form any particular games takes. Much love.
