Interesting news broke while we were recording the episode, and we made sure to incorporate it: Rocksteady's beleaguered Suicide Squad game (Kill the Justice League) has been indefinitely delayed from its May release on PlayStation 5, no doubt a response to the drubbing-by-consensus it recently took. Is such a move necessary, and could it right the game's trajectory? Did it even need saving it all? Other news items this week include a wild Jim Ryan quote regarding the Activision-Microsoft deal, a huge firmware update for PS5, the potential of Spider-Man 2 going head-to-head with Starfield, and more. To Chris’s comment, drawing samples from the same time per year would represent a judgement sampling method which does not yield random samples. Random samples are considered to have less bias and better represent the population. Additionally, samples from the same season may introduce a seasonality effect (a new variable) that could inject spurious correlation into our friend’s linear regression model. In other words, seasonality could suggest a false relationship between CDC’s sentiment (y-variable) as explained by time (x-variable). I apologize for being a nerd. I’m currently in a Masters-Level Financial Econometrics course and thought I could share some insight as I prepare for midterms.

Sad about no audio version for the live show because I listen to the show while I work and I never watch any of the videos for that reason hopefully they reconsider even if it doesn't make sense in audio format I'd rather just listen to the show

@colin You noted that you play Horizon2 at 60fps performance. I think you mentioned that you have the latest OLEDtv. I strongly recommend using Sony’s fidelity mode “vrr 120hz” . It’s sony “recommended”

Dustin I highly highly recommend Pistol Whip and Synth Riders for PSVR 2. Pistol Whip has you feeling like John Wick. Synth Riders is similar to Beat Saber, but instead of whacking things with sabers you kinda mash it with your hands. K/DA - Popstars is a song you can download as a DLC, and I’ve just been trying to perfect that one song and having a blast.

When you mentioned the idea of listening to the radio while reading a book I actually thought of conversations me and my wife have periodically. She thinks it's odd that sometimes I can listen to music or a podcast when I'm reading or playing games (or even watching sports lol). But she's also scrolling on her phone whenever she's watching tv. Maybe we are all just broken beyond belief as a society now lol.

Colin and Dustin, I bought Doki Doki Literature Club Plus for 11.49 two nights ago after hearing you guys raving about it and have yet to see why this game is so amazing. I have about 30 minutes a night to play games. I am about an hour and 30 minutes into the game, there has been a lot of text and it feels like a poorly written dating Sim with very few choices. Hey Colin, any chance you might try Octopath Traveler 2? I tried 1 and never liked it, and actually never liked any of the HD 2D games, but I tried the demo for OT2 and ended up buying it. The stories are actually great this time around, the skills and jobs are fun to master, the music and turn based combat are 🤙🏼. It’s a great time. I’m glad they finally got me with one of these. And no, you don’t need to play or know anything from OT1.

Assassins creed 3 was so weird at the beginning. Still one of the most disappointing games I’ve ever experienced. It’s not bad, but goodness was it a letdown and for sure huge reason were the first few hours of the game.

Mass Effect 3 has other problems besides the ending. The ME2 characters get like 5 minutes of screen time each, and the final missions on Earth are straight up unfinished with audio de-sync in cutscenes.

Colin would you not say that your point about the "quality" of the CoD deals is perhaps moot if Jim Ryan has in fact flat-out said that Sony is not interested in discussing ANY deals pertaining to CoD on their systems? Microsoft has certainly seemed open to negotiation, Sony are the ones that are seemingly refusing to come to the table at all. Additionally- if your hypothesis is true (or even somewhat true) that Sony is not concerned at all with Microsoft pulling CoD off their systems, wouldn't that discredit the notion that they and so many others are trying to push about Microsoft gaining an unfair advantage by owning CoD? If at the end of the day, Sony themselves aren't truly worried about CoD leaving PlayStation why should consumers and regulators be?
