Vagicarp, I choose you

Hey CDC, Why do you hate Canada? With Colin all but confirming that the next live show will be in europe, it seems like it would have been easier to visit your cousins from the north than crossing the ocean. Will australia and japan also get the pleasure of seeing Dustin's round head before us? What gives? All joking aside, I'm curious how you decide on future destinations for your live shows. Are you looking at Patreon subscribers by country and picking the places where you have the most fans? Is it purely based on your personal taste? When you hopefully do end up coming to Canada, please consider Montreal as your city of choice. Most conventions pick Toronto because it's the capital but the truth is that we have better restaurants, nicer venues, cheaper prices and tastier cocktails. Hope to see you boys one of these days in the flesh. Until then, your soothing voices will have to do.

Hello sexy Colin, buff Chris, and that other guy, Dead Cells Return to Castlevania came out this week and I’m just loving it. I would love to hear from Colin if he will be playing it. I had no idea it even has music from Castlevania. We need more Castlevania games, so I hope this is the start of something new. If you guys do review the DLC, you might wait for Boomstick Gaming to publish his review. That will give you a good template to build on. J/K Been following Colin since BEYOND. Loving everything you all do and keep up the great work LOVE YOU DUSTIN!

Hello Colonel Colin, First Sergeant Raygun and Specialist Furman, In last weeks episode of Sacred Symbols you mentioned going to Europe for the next live event. Is there any chance you'll bring the gaming battalion to the front lines and parachute into Ukraine? It sounds like they need all the help from Americans that they can get and Zelenskyy would welcome you with open arms. Or would the battalion be the last straw for Putin and send the world into a nuclear apocalypse? Thank you for all the entertainment and remember, aim small, miss small.

Hello friends, Does anyone remember playing turn-based co-op multiplayer on pre-N64 sidescrollers? For example, in Mario 3, players 1 and 2 would take turns attempting stages, switching off on death or level completion. Each player had their own set of lives and items, and if player 2 got a game over, all of his/her completed levels became incomplete for the team, and needed to be recompleted. I have tons of fond memories of playing games like this with a friend, where I alternated between playing and cheering my friend on in hopes that we wouldn’t lose shared progress (or simply talking shit). Is there any place for this retro multiplayer style in modern gaming, or perhaps have gameplay loops generally become too long to sustain this style of play? Thanks, Vince

Hello Gentlemen, Are the classic colors of the PlayStation face buttons gone forever? I found myself mixing up the white Square and Circle buttons during QTEs while playing HogLeg. Perhaps the lack of distinctive colors have affected my reaction time. I remember the recent Rachet & Clank having colored face buttons in menus and gameplay despite being a PS5 exclusive. The clear/white buttons of the Dualsense are aesthetically pleasing, but is the lack of colors changing how we interact with the buttons and/or QTEs in games? Is the march of time creeping up on my brain quicker than I thought? Take care and thanks for all the great content!

Hey guys, When it comes to PlayStation controller inputs in Japan: O is X, and in America X is O. What do you think about that? Putting muscle memory aside of course, which one truly makes more sense to you?

Anonymous

So there's a new PS5 system update that adds a lot of great features, but can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that we can update dualsense controllers wirelessly now?

Hello CDC, I’m suffering from PlayStation first party fatigue. I have tried many of the latest releases - including Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman and God of War Ragnarok - but I don’t seem to enjoy them like I used to. I simply could not beat any of these. There was a time when I would consume these titles with great excitement and admire the quality/polish. Nowadays, I feel like all of them are the same: risk-free and market tested to the extreme, with very little innovation in terms of gameplay and storytelling. I miss the era when PS games had a little more grit to it. Do you guys ever feel the same fatigue? Greetings from Rio de Janeiro

Hey guys, The criticisms of Atomic Heart last week were totally valid. Now that’s out of the way, it is a pretty good game if you can get over the dialogue hump. Moment to moment gameplay as well as the story are pretty damn good. And the small touches go a long way. Like the little videos of abilities on the upgrade screen, or the little death animations that play when you die. This isn’t me telling you or anyone else it’s a must play but there is something there and I hope to see more from Mundfish.

Hey Sneaky Rons with the Throbbin' Dongs, Boys, I was wondering if there's any games you were unable to beat as a child which you later returned to complete as an adult? Just asking as I absolutely loved Syphon Filter 2 as a kid but could never get past a certain catwalk with two guards as the game would end if they detected you. Little did I know you could actually dangle of a nearby rail. Thankfully the recent rerelease have me the chance to right a 20 year-old wrong. Cheers boys, Nick the Fifth

Dearest Sacred Boys, I love y’all so much. So much so, that I’ve even grown to love Chris’ pessimism, whereas typically I’d be averse to that. So much sgo, that I find Dustin’s long hair to be the absolute zenith of handsome studlyness, despite the the fact that he objectively looks better with short hair. And Colin… Daddy Colin… you’re so awesome and intelligent and charitable, not to mention a real trendsetter. Nobody does it better than you. You guys are the coolest. I’m gonna name my future children after you three, even if I have three girls. I just wanted you guys to know how special you are to me. Love ya fellas. Oh by the way, can you please buy me a PSVR2?

Greg Hommel

Hey Sacred Crew, Are you all nostalgic about games? I use games as yet another way to measure the passage of time. Every new title finished is pretty much the end of another era. Like music, thinking of past games takes me right back to that place and time. Do any of you experience this? When and where are your most vivid memories? Any bad ones? Any great ones? Thanks, Greg

hello ye Sacred gentlemen I recently picked up Power Wash Simulator on PSN, and I've been enjoying it as a chill out game. The mindless gameplay has helped me as a kind of assisted meditation when I'm feeling particularly anxious. Colin, I know you're pretty open with your experiences with anxiety, so it kind of has me curious if you guys have any games you go to that help clear your mind and deal with bouts of anxiety or even panic attacks. thank for the great shows every week and I hope you guys have a great day!

Hello fellows, Did you all see that there is a persona style golden girls rpg in the making. This may be the best thing ever. I highly recommend watching the trailer if you haven’t already.

Benjamin the Warped Nuclear Test Subject

Hey CDC, Adam Sessler is catching heat for an old review he did of a JRPG during his time at G4. The review has some jokes that some people may consider offensive, but that's not really the interesting part. Sessler is refusing to apologize and even invokes "MAGA weirdos" in one of his responses to the criticism. This is strange because not only is it highly unlikely anyone in the MAGA camp gives a fuck about the review, but also because it's the likes of Kotaku writing about it. While I do enjoy the schadenfreude of seeing someone who has been a complete dick to other people get their comeuppance, what do the three of you make of the entire nontroversy?

Hey guys, How has no one noticed that on the SS+ Last of Us episode recaps that Colin has been misnaming the star of the show? Colin, his first name is Pedro, not Pablo. Part of me believes Colin is doing this on purpose for some reason but nonetheless; now that it has been brought to your attention. it can go on no longer.

A PSA for all new or soon to be parents It seems like most weeks there’s a write in from a new or young parent. The questions are always around what games to play but not about how to play them. Both my wife and I work full time and I have learned some good guidelines to not lose my favorite hobby as I transitioned into fatherhood: -First and foremost, prioritize your family. Taking care of your partner and kid is more important than reaching save point. - Get a gaming headset that has a bluetooth function that allows you to pipe in the baby monitor. Turtle beach makes some cheap ones. - Establish a game night for yourself. On Wednesdays play war zone with some friends from college and my wife handles bedtime. On a different night I handle bedtime and my wife goes to yoga. This won’t be possible to plan until a sleep schedule is established (1-3 months). - Gaming while breastfeeding or bottle-feeding at night is about staying awake not entertainment. Switch is great for this because you can disconnect the controllers and hold the baby in whatever weird position they want. - Platinums are done until the kid is on a sleep schedule. just be grateful if you manage to roll credits on a game. - Open world games like Horizon and Elden Ring are so large that it’ll take a months if you want to finish them. - If you don’t like playing a game after a couple of hours stop playing it. Even if you paid full price. You don’t have time for “it gets so good after the 10+ hour tutorial.” - if you like rpgs, game with a journal. At the end of your game session write what you were working on. After working on reviews for games, I can’t go back to not using a games journal. This is all just gaming when they’re a babies, gaming while toddler is a totally different list. Maybe we should have a “gaming while dad” podcast of SS+.

Hey boys. Had a left field question for y’all. What game has the biggest body count? Let me explain. I was watching a recent Skill Up video where he mentioned how many games copy the live service and UI elements of Destiny but do it in a poorer and unrefined way (I’m looking at you shitty circle cursor). It had me think about how many developers and publishers that have been led astray by Destiny’s success and created live service games that were destined to fail. In other words, how many games did Bungie unintentionally inspire only to be burnt at the stake by shifting to an MMO/live service formula for console games in the og Destiny. So my question is what other great games have caused the most harm to the industry in attempts to replicate that game’s success? Cheers and keep on keepin on.

Hey guys, A bunch of YouTubers were able to preview the upcoming free-to-play shooter called The Finals, which was made by ex-DICE developers. Did you guys get a chance to watch these previews, and what are your thoughts? The environmental destruction is a big step up from the Battlefield franchise, and there are a lot of creative weapons and gadgets, including a knock-off of Prey's foam gun (the GLOO Cannon). It's nice to get a squad-based FPS that is more interested in being fun than providing a super serious competitive experience.

Hey Sacred Crew, What’s the deal with LuLu Cheng? She has become a lightning rod for the AKB acquisition in recent months. She now just spilled the beans on a conversation involving Jim Ryan in Brussels on February 21st stating Ryan said, "I don’t want a new Call of Duty deal. I just want to block your merger.” Not only is this not all that shocking to me that he would want to block the merger, but it also has odd timing, coming on the same day as the Starfield delay. Is this intentional? Is she hurting or helping the merger? Thanks for the great content.

Hello Cobra Commander Colin, Slipery Chris, and Cowboy hat lovin’ Dustin. So I know a lot of people that love playing games but do not want to be called “gamers”. The reason they tell me is because they believe gaming culture is toxic. I believe this is very sad and I was wondering if you know why lots of people feel this way and if there is a way to change this? Best, AstroParrotKing

Hello, I've been listening to Sacred Symbols since the very beginning, and I have to admit that after a while the phrases and accentual flourishes of the three of you have become etched in my brain and can always be counted on being uttered at least once per episode. For this reason, I started dreaming of a Sacred Symbols drinking game, where all the boys and girls across the world who listen to you every week can use your show to fuel their alcoholism and deep depression. There is but one issue, however. I am a pure man, one who refrains from vices such as alcohol, so I have to put a spin on this drinking game to suit my lifestyle. As such, for every time Colin says "harrible," Dustin says "whutch," or Chris says "very very" or "really really," I will be shooting a full needle's worth of heroin straight into my bloodstream. Please, for the sake of my kids, don't make me overdose. I am only kidding, of course. I will not be partaking in any hard drugs this evening, but if anyone out there is a heroin addict, feel free to adopt my game for weekly use free of charge.

Hello friends! I want to inquire today about “fuck you” games. Games that you played, potentially to completion (necessary OOOHHH), but at the end, whether it be credits or before, left you going like “fuuuuck you.” For me, the prime example is Sekiro. Literally fuck that game. A dumb, obtuse, brilliant, *stupid* fucking game that I didn’t actually finish but got roughly 90% through before I had to concede. So, I wonder if you gentlemen have any experiences similar to this? A game you can agree is objectively “good” or that you played the majority of but just left an unpleasant aftertaste in your jowls when you put the controller down.

Good morrow, gentleman. I've entered a character-building commitment with my dear friend to do a variety of character-building tasks every single day for a month. I won't bore you with the full list of tasks but one of them is drinking 100 ounces of water. I absolutely hate this. I have trouble making it through the day drinking this much liquid. It feels like overkill and has got to be the most challenging part of the program for me. My question is, how much liquid do you each consume daily? Do you feel like you'd be healthier if you drank more? at a certain point it just seems like a waste to me. Much love from Houston. Keep milking that badger

Hey CDC, would love to hear more of Chris’ thoughts on the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion. I recently hopped back in for the first time since being one of the first groups to complete the Vault of Glass raid in OG destiny. It really dawned on me how much better Destiny is than Call of Duty. The combat, the movement, the lore and world. It’s all just so superior. I’m excited to play the old expansions that are still available and really diving into this world. Thanks boys and have a great day! PS: Dustin needs to create us a Destiny 2 LSM clan that we can all join :)

Broderick Fleming

Orators of the Symbols Most Sacred, I recently upgraded one of my consoles, and instead of trading my old one in for the measly pocket change GameStop would give me, I manage to barter it for a tattoo and it got me thinking. What’s the coolest trade you guys have made? Thanks for the endless entertainment gentlemen

Shadvegas

Hey CDC, Colin, you randomly mention YouTube channels like the Texas street fights or the “to catch a predator” style channels and I normally miss them due to driving. I’ve managed to find the two that I mentioned and have loved watching it. Are there any other random channels you or the guys recommend? Thanks for the great content!

Whats up sacred boys, Last week Colin was having a hard time finding the sweet spot in his PSVR2 headset, and i wanted to share a quick tip, that i rarely see, but works very well, and that is to play with your pulse headset (any other headset will probably do). Put it on over the vr, settle the cups on your ears, and it will hold the headset in the sweet spot without slippage. This worked great on psvr1 and works great on the psvr2. Have fun playing village in VR, I've been holding off on playing it at all until its VR release, and it is pretty amazing. Happy playing,

Hey Chris I just found out that the singer of Imagine Dragons is from Portland, Oregon which is where I’m from and I couldn’t be any more disappointed. I promise you people from Portland aren’t usually that terrible, I’ll be looking into this and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Anyhow, I’m sorry to remind you of the American tragedy that is Imagine Dragons and I hope you use rage you get from the thought them in your tussle against Froggyfresh. Show the world that you are truly the baddest of them all!

With all the success Square has had with FF 7 Remake, one has to think more remakes are on the way. With all the rumors of Tactics and IX o the horizon, one has to think FF X and X-2 have to be in the works at some point. One of the best selling games of all time and a defining moment for PS2. Would any of you play a remake of FF X? And will Yuna ever stop dancing??

Mikey Rivers

What's good Sacred Gentleman? Question for y'all: How good is your gaming memory? For me, I have consumed so much content over the years I can hardly remember any prominent moments in games I have played in the past unless I have played it more than once, or watched 20 reaction videos of it on youtube. Nier Automata has one of the best, most philosophical stories in gaming. I can't remember fuck all about. Bioshock? Idk something about would you kindly. What say gentlemen?

Good day Sacred Fellows! I find myself in something of a mid-generation bind that only the three of you could solve. I had access to a PS5 via a roommate during 2021 and have since moved in with my girlfriend. I've only now been able to find PS5's in stock on store shelves and in Amazon searches yet am beleaguered by the constant rumors of PS5 Pro and Slim models being just around the corner. How substantive are these rumors? The PS4 Pro launched three years after the original version, and somehow here we are three years post-PS5. Should I purchase a PS5 now or wait just a few more months (perhaps a year) for a more powerful version? Thank you in advance for your wise counsel and countless hours of phenomenal podcasting.

Jason Bolla

Greetings boys, Grim Guardians is getting a name change to Gal Guardians due to copyright. While the additional press and temporary inability to purchase the game may cause fomo sales, do you think this will be a net win or loss? How many press sites will retroactively fix the title? Switching the name on Metacritic should be easy, but is it in reality? And then press images will have to be swapped as well. Not many games deal with this, especially post launch, so what should they do to avoid it in the future?

Hello, Mr.Moriarty, Mr.Furman & Mr.Gun, Last week Mr.Moriarty mentioned that it would be nice to have a replacement term for “metroidvania”. Hopefully I can help. The past few years to myself I’ve been using the term “2D open map”. How do you feel of this term? Do I need to wash my mouth out with fresh mozzarella water and be issued a hearty stand down? Thanks for all the great shows as Last Stand Media and ILP consistently make my week.

Gentlemen, A few weeks ago Kinda Funny Games released their "10 Trophy Commandments" on their PlayStation podcast. These commandments were described as what they considered to be the criteria for an acceptable trophy list. To say their commandments were lackluster would be a severe mis-representation of the inadequacy of what they cobbled together. My questions for you all, although especially for Colin who platinums games with a regular cadence, are this: -What would make your personal lists of "Trophy Commandments"? -What are the acceptable criteria that should be required of all games trophy lists in order to earn a platinum? Best Regards, Josh Tull

Hey you three (or two in case Chris is far away someplace, punching cow meat in a freezer.) I was wondering if any of you guys caught wind of an IGN article that spoke about review scores on their site, and why so many games seem to be rated above a 7. I also read an interesting counter response to Dan Stapleton's IGN article, which came by the way of Unwinnable.com. I don't know if the subject of review scores has become a tired discussion by this point but I thought I'd share it, especially with you Colin due to your first hand coverage of games at the site. Love the show as always and don't forget to keep browsing Ashley Madison with that chicken.

Hey there Sacred Flu, Cryin' Ryan just shot himself in the foot! Back in September 2022, Cryin' Ryan rejected the CoD deal because "Microsoft has only offered for Call of Duty to remain on PlayStation for three years after the current agreement between Activision and Sony ends." And in a recent turn of events, according to Lulu Cheng Meservey, EVP Corporate Affairs and CCO of Activision Blizzard, Cryin' Ryan said the following on February 21st, 2023: "I don’t want a new Call of Duty deal. I just want to block your merger.” Source: https://www.ruetir.com/2023/03/jim-ryan-i-dont-want-a-call-of-duty-deal-i-just-want-to-block-the-acquisition-ruetir/ So what gives? Saying one thing to the public and another to whom you're doing business with is not uncommon, but now he put himself in a weird position where we're all exposed to his hypocrisy. Thoughts?

Hello CDC, In the past our great Jim Ryan has indeed been cryin and finger banging controllers. However, I have to point out the latest side of Jim. It's being reported that he recently told Activision/Microsoft "I don't want a new Call of Duty deal. I just want to block your merger." Look at our boy, He's not only dropping the hammer down he is also being transparent. Which is something Side Mouth Phil could learn. Though Jim is not quite at the level of sunglasses Chad Reggie Fils-Aimé. He has instead blossomed into our very own playstation Thug daddy. It's a steady reminder that Not all heroes actually play games. I created a meme to celebrate this occasion and posted in the discord. If people are still not in the discord, I kindly ask...what the fuck? I love you guys and everything you do. Much love from Ohio. DonutSuplex out

Colin, I recall a couple shows back you mentioned that you were interested in getting into Octopath 2. Considering that it's on the PS5, I really hope you give it a shot. I lost interest in the first game when it came out, but somehow this sequel got its turn-based hooks set into me. I don't write in recommendations to the show often, but damn, this would seem like a Colin-ass game. Don't pass on it.

Hey Sacred boys, I’m gonna come in a bit hot here, but do you think Sony is questioning their acquisition of Bungie following the Destiny 2 Lightfall release and its mixed (at best) reception? Of course, the game has undoubtedly made an immense amount of money, but it seems that Sony had made this acquisition in order to apply the live-service “expertise” of Bungie to their upcoming games. It’s hard to say this as a Destiny fan, but the reality is that Bungie consistently drops the ball when it comes to monetised content and takes far too long to take action when fans are upset. Even when Bungie does things right the first time, it often comes with concessions. In my opinion, I would have much rather seen Sony strengthen their already existing relationship with Epic, taking advice from their live service games like Fortnite and Rocket League. I know it’s easy to roll our eyes at games like these because we never hear about them in our circles, but that’s the point! Like GTAV, these communities never cause a scene online because they rarely have anything to complain about. Although these games seem like a joke to us who are more hardcore, the hard truth is that they make far more money than Destiny. If Sony really wants to have a seat at the table when it comes to live-service games, it should be looking at the market leaders. This argument may have been a bit different a couple weeks ago, where it could be said that Sony acquired Bungie because Destiny has more artistic integrity than the aforementioned games. But having the beginning and ending cutscenes literally be the same singular scene but cut in two has about the same amount of artistic integrity as the shit I took this morning. I understand that Chris is a huge Destiny fan so of course I’m open to any pushback. TD;DR I believe Bungie’s status in the live service field is overstated compared to competitors and Sony probably shouldn’t have panic-bought a studio to compete with Microsoft.

Reon Williams

Hey Sacred boys, I’m gonna come in a bit hot here, but is Sony regretting acquiring Bungie after the mixed reception of Destiny 2 Lightfall? Despite the game's financial success, Bungie consistently drops the ball when it comes to monetized content and the response time of player feedback. Even when Bungie does things right the first time, it often comes with concessions. I would have much rather seen Sony strengthen their already existing relationship with Epic, taking advice from the likes of Rocket League and Fortnite, the former of which is a market leader. I know it’s easy to roll our eyes at games like these because we never hear about them in our circles, but that’s the point. Like GTA V, these communities never cause a scene online because they rarely have anything to complain about while simultaneously spending the most money in the industry. Although these games seem like a joke to us who are more hardcore, the hard truth is that they make far more money than Destiny. This argument may have been a bit different a couple of weeks ago, where it could be said that Sony acquired Bungie because they balance monetization and artistic integrity better than the aforementioned games, and wish to apply such a philosophy to their upcoming titles. But honestly, having the beginning and ending cutscenes of your game literally be the same singular scene but cut in two has about the same amount of artistic integrity as the shit I took this morning. Open to any pushback. Thank you boys.

Hey fellas, After hearing Colin run through his first impressions of his PSVR2, I couldn't help but feel he was describing mine word for word. I was so hyped for this thing, so you can understand how sorely disappointed i was when when I booted up GT7 and went to check out one of my favourite cars in VR showcase mode, only to find the entire interior was out of focus. After trying out Horizon, same thing, anything at hands length was out of focus. No matter how much I tampered with the settings and position of the headset to find the so called sweet spot, I simply couldn't see things clearly up close. As a newcomer to VR i had nothing to ground my expectations on and fell hook line and sinker for Sony's marketing of stunning high fidelity 4K OLED visuals. Only takes a few seconds to find out VR looks a tad different than 4K OLED flat screen visuals. Maybe i'm just getting to old but should I have known this ahead of time somehow? I began to think i must have a faulty headset as there is no way this was anywhere near an acceptable user experience. My thoughts raced with regret as the thought of whether i'd just thrown a significant amount of cash out the window kept nagging at me. After not finding anything official from Sony or any VR youtubers/reviewers even discussing this issue, I turned to the internet for answers. It turns out there is a significant proportion of the population who will suffer this issue when using VR headsets. The phenomenon is called "Vergence-Accommodation conflict (VAC)" and is essentially an issue of your eye not being able to shift focus properly within stereoscopic 3D. It's a completely different environment to what our eyes evolved in and they begin to get confused. Its similar in comparison to looking at a chain link fence or one of those Magic Eye pictures that were popular in the 90's. The eye doesn't know how to casually shift focus and can often take seconds to correct itself.. There is hope though, as this phenomenon can be overcome with practice and putting time into the headset. If you struggle to see something up close, try closing one eye, you'll find the image will come into focus. Then try slowly opening the other and in time your eye will stay focused on the close image. I can attest to now having 3 weeks in the headset and am only experiencing this problem 10 to 20% of the time, but have now learnt to kind of shift my focus manually. So don't give up yet Colin, or anyone else out there currently going through this, there is hope, as once you overcome it the headset is gloriously sharp and immersive. One final point I think was more interesting, isn't so much this phenomenon occurring, but how did the people at Sony miss this? How did QA and testers not become aware of an issue that is widespread enough to have reared its head rather quickly into PSVR2's first week of launch. It seems VAC is a known issue within the VR community (data seems to point to people with astigmatisms being more susceptible) but not a word from Sony beforehand or youtubers to perhaps set some expectations, or even to simply let a man know hes not going insane when he cant see the dash of his Ferarri 458.

Hey fellas, After your recent discussion about the PS VR 2 I was wondering about other triple AAA games Sony can bring to the table. To me it's a no brainer to bring dormant franchises back in VR for example; Killzone and Resistance. It's a new way to experience these worlds similar to Half Life Alyx. Do you think Sony should split the player base on franchises like these or is it a good way to increase PS VR 2 sales? In my opinion, I am more likely to buy a PS VR 2 with experiences like these, Call of the Mountain doesn't do for me. PS - If at any point Sony figure out a Spider-Man VR game, then a PS VR 2 is a must buy. There is a lot of potential i.e. a prequel game about Insomniac's Peter about his early years. Which can contextualise you learning how to shoot webs, how to swing etc. I do have a lot of faith in this new version of VR I just hope there are more big budget experiences. Keep up the great work.

Hello, CDC, I hope all is well with you. What's the point of having trophies in a game of there's not a Platinum trophy for getting 100%? I grew up loving Turok and Turok 2 on the N64 and noticed that both games are on the PlayStation Store, however, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter doesn't have a Platinum while Turok 2: Seeds of Evil does. Why release one game with a Platinum and release the other without one?

Kurt Lewin

Hey CCD. Question mainly for Colin as a big Castlevania fan. Are you planning to check out the new Dead Cells Castlevania game? The response to it seems to be very positive with it even getting a 10 from ign. Granted they give them out like confetti now but still shows it should be a good time. Cheers

Greetings to the Sacred Symbussy boys. I was thinking about the metroidvania naming dilemma, and I have a solution. The genre needs a good acronym like RPG or FPS. My suggestion for this is renaming it to Progressive Action with World Gating, or PAWG for short. This does a good job of describing what makes the genre special, slowly getting more powerful and unlocking new ways to explore the world. And as far as I know the acronym isn't being used by anything else. I'm open to suggestions, or if you have any ideas for Rougelite that's also in dire need of a re-name.

Hello you Exquisite Sacred Gentlemen, A expansion on the conversation last week about people hating video games. My dad is one of these people. He tells me they are addicting and i argue the point they cant be more addicting than a movie or board game. In further exploration of this topic its clear my dads hatred for video games is fueled by a misunderstanding of what games are. He seems to believe that all games are similar to that of COD, GTA, and sports games like Madden. When I told him that the story in the Last if Us game is even more expansive than the TV show he would not believe me. He wouldn’t even believe me about the story in GTA and believes its just running around “committing crime pointlessly”. Do you think the industry suffers from outside sources because of inaccurate perceptions from them and how even the media may portray them? Sorry for the long inquiry. Interested to hear your remarks. Thank you for all you do and stay classy.

Tyee

Yes it has not been used anyway else I can confirm this

Hey fellas, Just curious what movie IP's you think should be adapted into video games following HOGLEG. With this game being almost a billion dollar success already, I feel there is so much untapped potential for franchises to get "in universe" video games. I personally would love a kick ass, 3rd person Terminator game. Pass that chicken over, - Joey :)

Have a great show player 2 and half men

Hey Slitty Slitty Bang Bang, I know we talk about sometimes just not wanting to play games but have you ever not played because you were overwhelmed by choice. I went through a 2 year span where I barely played anything due to some depression and issues at home. Those have been resolved (as much as they can be) so I have been catching up on great games like Ghost of Tsushima, Last of Us Part II, Spiderman, Miles Morales. I am finishing up Hades and I am paralyzed by choice because my game time is limited. Do I restart Jedi Fallen Order or FF7 Remake since they have sequels coming? Do I take a stab at Elden Ring? Go back and play Metroid Prime again or RE2 remake? I can't figure out what to do and I just end up doing another Hades run instead.

Hi guys, First time, long time. I got PSVR2 and I'm in love with it. One game I was especially excited for was Resident Evil: Village, as I had not played it yet and was eager to just do my first playthrough in VR. I played 7 on the PSVR and it was one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life. However, I have learned that the VR mode has no trophy support. This has completely killed my desire to play now. What is wrong with me! I'm not even the kind of player that goes for platinums all the time like Colin. I just really love seeing those trophies pop while I'll play. It's like a nice little "atta boy!", and gets recorded for posterity. What are your guys' thoughts on this? Why did Capcom decide to fuck us over with this? Do you even care or am I just being a weirdo about this? Mike

Good afternoon my friends and acquaintance. Will LSM ever cover Nintendo by way of a dedicated show? I follow Sacred Symbols not because I'm a PlayStation fan, but because it's the best gaming content around, period. I've searched far and wide but there is no Nintendo content out there on the same level as Sacred Symbols. Personally I think Dustin is ready to lead a show and his Nintendo knowledge seems pretty good. Help me Last Stand Media, you're my only hope!

Hey CDC, Would you rather: You instantly become 600 pounds, or your significant other instantly becomes 500 pounds? The weight can be lost via natural measures (no surgeries save for cosmetic skin removal after weight loss).

Hello Sacred Crew, With Starfield being dated for November and Forza clearly being a late summer release, Xbox has it's line up for 2023 more or less cemented. When do you think Sony will lift the curtain on it's own line up? All we know officially so far is that PS VR2 is getting more games, Horizon has DLC on the way and Spider-Man 2 is dropping this Fall. Have a great day gents and get that chicken PS Plus why don't you?
