There's much to go over as Xbox fans wait with bated breath for information on Starfield's Developer Direct. With the Activision deal pending, the media is claiming that if it is to fail that Microsoft is ready to shut down Xbox. Just how much validity is there to such a claim? The Duke dig into the facts and find out. Guys the performance differences between the Series X and the PS5 isn’t just a frame drop here and there. Hogwart’s managed to stay at 60 on ps5 in areas where Xbox was dipping into the 40s. That’s a massive difference.

Can someone please point to an example of "the media" saying Xbox will be closing if ABK falls through? I searched: -"Xbox Shutting Down" -"Xbox Shuttering" -"Xbox Sold Off" I was able to find a single article pointing to a tweet, that is referencing what "pundits think," I love DD, and I have commented on negativity in the past so I might look like an asshole, which is not my intent. However, needlessly focusing on negative content and the speculative tweets of others does not make for enjoyable content. Who knows maybe I'm in the minority and am being too sensitive. The world is already just such a negative place, I tune into the podcast to escape that.

Thank you providing the link, but this article still just points to a tweet in which a pundit is talking about what pundits have said. There is a big difference, some pundit spouting off on Twitter is not the same as said pundit publishing an article that made it through an editorial process. Thanks again for taking the time to find an article though!

The Xbox fanbase ALWAYS feels like it’s being picked on, because Xbox has been the butt of every joke for the last 10 years. And rightfully so , they suck from a content perspective compared to thier competitors. The only way they change it is by consistently putting out high quality. Until then the Xbox fanbase just gotta eat that disrespect and assumption that they are gonna fuck everything up.

Solid discussion on my question and solid ep overall yet again. Matty, I’m up to everybody’s chapter 3 in Octopath 2 and so far I actually prefer the characters and stories from the original. You rip on Tressa but she was so light-hearted, warm, and genuine and I don’t get that vibe from any of the characters here. They kinda go for it with Ochette but she just comes off cheesy. 2 improves on 1 for sure, probably most for me in terms of speed and detail, but I prefer the original. #OverratedDD

I’m 22 hours into Octopath 2 and I’m in love with this game. Everything about this game to me is incredible. The music is soooo good. I choose Ochette to start and I love how she’s the opposite of Hannit. Hannit was very serious and Ochette is fun. My squad right now is Ochette, Hikari, Osvald and Partitio. A tip for anyone who doesn’t already know, but use Partitio to stack and donate BP to your characters. Sometimes bosses start to power up and the next turn they will wreck you. But if you have Partitio and can donate BP to a character who can break the boss before they can do their power moves. Octopath is a 10 game for me. My last 4 games have been Horizon Forbidden West, Dead Space Remake, Metroid Prime remaster and now Octopath. 2023 is already off to a banger start. My next game will be Resident Evil 4 and then Star Wars to be followed by Zelda. This may be the best year in gaming for me right now. 10/10 games until June. I know RE4, Star Wars and Zelda will be 10s for me. I just feel it.

Why are people acting like the 67.8B is Xbox’s to do whatever they want with? This is Microsoft’s money and if the acquisition falls through it’s stupid to think they still have this money to piss away. Microsoft will likely still invest but the belief that this 67.8B is completely ring fenced for Xbox and not for Microsoft’s other businesses if ABK falls though is beyond stupid.

I understand most gamers don't need split screen co-op. People are clearly happy to purchase their own console with a subscription, to avoid performance, quality, or even screen real estate. My wife and I love split screen and wish more games offered it. It saves us money, which goes back into purchasing the games we love, and it saves on space when we are playing together. We have a big enough TV and prefer not having two screens along side each other, just to play one game. Not to mention the setup and packup required to initiate a session in the living area.
