Pet Peeves, Life After Death, Drinking, The Soundtrack of LSM | Constellation Episode 6

We're pleased to welcome a very special guest to this episode of Constellation: The man behind all of Last Stand's music, Ramon Narvaez (aka Colin's best friend since freshman year of college). This week, Dustin asks what our pet peeves are, and what trivial human behaviors drive us mad. Dagan discusses the ups and downs of drinking alcohol, and our various bouts with it (or lack thereof) over time in our respective lives. Ramon goes into the nerdy weeds to outline how Last Stand's soundtrack came to be, and how it's evolved over time, with special attention paid to production and inspirations. And finally, Colin wants to know the answer to a simple-yet-monumental question: What happens when we die? Finally the elusive Ramon appears!

And here I am just finishing the last episode yesterday. Can't wait to dive into this one. Constellation has quickly become my favorite podcast; Dagan being the reason, obviously.

Ryan Hayman

Thanks for editing the music in - makes the conversation make much more sense :)

This isn't a diss against Dustin or anything, I genuinely do love him, but this trio on Constellation has started to get a little worn for me. I was hoping for more variation with only Colin and Dagan showing up for every episode in a given month. Just my two cents, I'm sure I'm in the minority but of course I'll still be here every week.

Like Dagan, I don't really think about gum ever anymore. I much prefer mints or candy but even those I hardly have anymore. When it comes to drinking, I completely relate to Dustin, though, with some slight differences in that I am always a light weight and 99% of time I only have one drink and nothing more than 15% ABV. Of course, it's all health-related in my case.

Blacked out only once, it was a rage against the machine concert in 07. To be honest, it was pretty early, my buddy might of pulled a Alan in the hangover. Long story short, forgot my ticket at the car and remember getting it but nothing until I came to about 3 hours later just in time for the concert, but I took a digger sometime during the blackout and busted up my elbows, my buddy sold his tix, took a bunch of acid, found and put a keg in my backseat of my car and killed my battery in a muddy ass parking lot. Rage was fucking great though and we ruined the hill for the hippies that had a DMB concert the next day, so it was overall a great time

I love my Hazy and New England IPAs. In Allentown we have Shangys and it’s beer heaven. New Trail, Levante, Pizza Boy and Sloop are some of my favorite breweries. I get in my sour kicks and in the dead of winter I love my stouts and porters.

Great episode. Ramon was awesome. Excited for the plus episode. Also, a mention of the animation podcast? Hell yeah 👍🏻

Ari Levi

Ramon was excellent! Wish he could be around every episode.

Gene Park

man i love this show. colin have you ever played soma? it directly addresses this idea of being able to beam into a body and whether it’s still you.

Joshua Brown

Getting to the pet peeves section while I was chewing gum very loudly was a moment.

Ramon is still the coolest guest to grace a Colin show!

Greg Dawson

In terms of pet peeves, Ramon saying "like" every three words shot to the top of the list 😂. It's one of those things, once you notice it, it's all you hear. The wife does it occasionally. All good tho. Great show. Really good to hear from Ramon, it's been a while. We definitely need "times I shit my pants" topic.

100% agree with Dustin about mouth noises...people munching while they eat was drilled into me as a child as something to never do and it stuck. Its completely disgusting....

Jacob Mann and Sam Wilkes, Knower!!! I KNEW Ramon knew his shit. Super happy to finally hear from him. Great episode, guys.

Pyo

WOOOOW, I had no idea the person from Colins outro was real??!?!?

Johnny Lamotte

Ramon sounds like a very cool dude! Really down to earth. You have great friends Colin 👌 great episode

Brandon Soto

Alcohol is easy to avoid for me. Tastes bad, not good for you, & it's expensive.

Ryan Zimm

You must rage when they have Gene on. I like Gene, but his "likes per minute" are off the charts

Greg Dawson

Never noticed it with Gene, but now you've pointed it out, I'm sure I will next time.

Dylan Manuszak

Ramon needs to he a regular. "Pay the man!"

Andrew B

Great episode. Timestamps on the audio versions for the different topics would be appreciated, if possible. Thanks!

warren chue

Hard Drugs mannnnnnnn, love it Ramon!

Eebo85

Awesome episode. Also Ramon could lull me into sleep with that amazing voice. Need more Ramon!

Pace

Love the episode. Need more Ramone in the mix. On the subject of death I would like to recommend a book for Colin to read while floating in his pool this summer. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. It's just so good I could put it down.

Pet peeve - blowing your nose when food is present. I don’t like blowing your nose in general but if you’re gonna do it while I’m fucking eating, you’re a terrible human being and people should shun you.
