What's up guys! In light of the PSVR2 embargo lifting Wednesday, I have a question. Why is it that Sony is dead set on the VR market? I was researching and as of 2019 (I guess there's no more recent numbers?) they sold through 5 million units of the first iteration of the PSVR. I can't help but think they could at the very least double those numbers if they really honed in and made another handheld. Are we that sure VR will ever be more than a fad? With a cheaper price point they have to know a potential Vita II would reach more people than having to buy a PS5 AND a PSVR2 unit. Thanks for reading and keep up the good work! PS congrats to my Kansas City Chiefs on their Superbowl win!

Hey boys, with the newest PlayStation Plus games announced, we're getting Horizon Forbidden West a year after release. Do you think this is tied to hitting a certain milestone, trying to build up hype for the VR2 release, the game reaching as many people as they think it will with the bundles, or will this set the precedent for releases showing up a year later? Deathloop showed up a year after launch because of the exclusivity ending, and Ghostwire will be the big game next month for the same reason. But will we see GoW:R come this November? Or will the games stay on sale alongside their respective shows? I initially thought TLoU2 would be on Plus next month to coincide with the end of season 1, but in reality sales will probably spike afterward. Interested to hear what you think.

I have never played a JRPG before but it's my best friends favorite genre. If I wanted to surprise him with a game that I've played what should it be?

Hey CDC, Recently I sit down and went through some of my gaming collection to try and get things a little more organized. While I really wasn’t looking forward to it at first, I begin to find myself enjoying this journey as I came across some items I had initially forgotten about such as old strategy guides, collector’s editions, etc. This got me wondering, what are some of your boys’ favorite things you have in your collection? I know Dustin has been collecting retro games for a while but curious to hear from Colin and Chris as well. Keep up the great work being the best video game podcast out there.

Hey CDC, when do you realize it’s time to step away from the controller for a little while? I’m on this see-saw of feeling guilty for gaming too much, but also sometimes playing games I’m not loving and playing them just to pass time. I have a full time job and still balance things like errands and gym time, but sometimes that zest in gaming just doesn’t hit the way I want it to. So when do you know for yourselves personally it’s time to do something else?

Hey CDC, I'm really enjoying Hogwarts Legacy so far as I'm assuming you boys are as well. However, allow me to get extremely nitpicky for a moment: what's up with the 3-5 seconds of loading when entering and exiting the castle? Have we not moved passed this? Shouldn't the powerful SSD we were teased during the Mark Cerny Power Hour prevent this break in immersion? Is this an unfortunate side effect of this game being a cross generation title? Obviously this is very minor complaint but just wondering if it's something you noticed. Thank you kind sirs. -Michael Held

Hello CDC, Recently listened to the Uncharted 4 Knock Back and hearing Colin’s more positive point of view on the game now compared to the first time hr played got me to want to rewatch his old Uncharted 4 review to see just how harsh he really was to the game. It turns out Colin, your review of the game is very similar to how you still feel about it today. The same points are brought up but your just more positive towards them. To me, It shows how strong the environment you play a game in impacts your perception of it beyond merely what you think of it. To the rest of the Sacred Crew, what games do you believe were tainted by outside influences going on in your life at the time? Thank you!

EMERGENCY MEETING!!! Now that I got your guy's attention, we need to talk about this wired.com review of Hogwarts Legacy. I'm just going to cut straight to the point. How in the hell is this person Jaina Grey a games journalist? Seeing as she or they reviewed the game a 1/10, I'm 💯 percent sure that they didn't even bother to play the game in it's entirely let alone an hour. My question to you guys is why aren't Journalist held to a higher standard then this and how are we supposed to trust the integrity of these so called Journalist when their review consists of only political rants regarding their dislike of J.K. Rowling's LGBT opinions rather than the actual game itself? Thanks for all the amazing work that you guys do and I'll see you at Hogwarts bitch.

Hey CDC Wanted to make a comment on this month’s great lineup for PS Plus Extra. From Horizon Forbidden West, Outriders, Scarlet Nexus, to I Am Setsuna; just absolutely awesome value. And then then the classic premium tier with Wild Arms 2 and Legend of Dragoon! Is Playstation finally listening and giving us more bang for the buck? Thanks!

Hey Sacred Crew Long time listener and first time writer. With horizon forbidden west hitting the PS plus extra tier a year after its release there has been some speculation online about the reasons sony did this and people are saying because it flopped and the reason for it is cause they haven't given us any sales update. Mean while GOW ragnarok announces 11 million copies sold and broke the record for fastest selling first party game in playstation history. I think the reason sony gave the numbers for GOW is because it broke a record other wise i don't think we would have gotten any data on copies sold if it didn't do so. I think FW has sold around 10 million copies to date (just speculation on my part)as compared to zero dawn which is 20 million in 5 years with pc release included. I personally think FW is not a sales flop by any means, I think they did it cause the new dlc coming out in april and its another way to generate buzz and interest in the game again before the next big content update drops which is only available on ps5. Of course they could also do it cause sales have stagnated and they see no harm in putting the game on the service. What do you think the real reason is for sony releasing it into the service a year later and is this a trend going forward with first party games and would you be shocked if they released god of war ragnarok to the service a year after it released just in time for the holidays. Thanks!!

Dustin. I work at a Chipotle and hearing you call it Chippers gives me an awful guttural reaction. Im not trying to ruin your fun or issue a stand down. I just want to make sure you know I hate it. All jokes aside keep being the best god damn podcast there is. No I cant get you a sponsorship, Im a dishwasher.

Hey Boys, Eiffel 65's "My Console" is hugely nostalgic for me and is a must-listen for Playstation fans. -On a sidenote, I'd love to see Eiffel 65's Europop Album on Knockback. I'd also recommend "Savage Season" by The Color 8 and "My Megadrive" by 2080. Do you have any favorite songs about video games? Thanks for the shows, have a good one!

Hey Colin, Dustin and Chris, Thought I’d jump in on the “naming your kids after pop culture characters” debate because I have two daughters and a dog, all named for some of my favourite pieces of pop culture. But here’s the catch, nobody would guess as much unless you were in the know and knew me personally. My dog is named Monty, which we got from one of the best episode of the Simpsons where Mr Burns takes all Santa's little helpers puppies and named one after himself. My two daughters are called Lily and Alexandria, the first from Harry Potter and the latter from the kingdom in FF 9. I’m a teacher so I come across weird names all the time so I don’t really care how others decide to name their kids but I thought my input might be a little more nuanced than others. Thanks for the hours of media you put out, I try listen to nearly everything from sacred symbols to knock back. Jp

Hey CDC Do you think PS have been waiting for this soft relaunch of PS5 availability to really push their new PS plus, instead of being lost to time before the masses are there? And regarding the latest gamepass sales impact news, I wonder whether there are publishers out there, specifically Japanese who simply do not want that model to succeed and so we see the heavy weighting of support to Sony and Nintendo?

Good morning boys, Greetings from Ireland, My question is about, surprise surprise, Hogwart's Legacy, With the commercial and critical success of the game despite the tempest of lunacy surrounding it, Do you think Legacy's success might give developers pause before firing an important employee due to outside pressure in a similar way Kara Lynne was fired from LRG, While playing I couldn't help but think of Troy Leavitt and how him leaving gracefully of his own accord could have been avoided if it was known all the outrage wouldn't have made the slightest difference to the games overwhelming success. Thank you for all you do and don't forget to choke that chicken just a little.

The Great Santini

Alright guys, I’m going to try and get out ahead of this before it besides a “thing” (yeah right)… Wild Hearts’ graphics aren’t great. Truth be told, they’re not even good for a modern era game… BUT, I argue that it doesn’t matter. The gameplay has been awesome in the 5 hours I’ve put into it (EA Play trial) and best of all? The character creator. Guys… they give you the ability to create a fucking MUSCLE’d up, bodacious booty’d nature obliterator and I’m here for it. I think we can all agree that more games need ass-sliders and for that alone? I give this game a MINIMUM 8/10. All jokes aside, the game has been a lot of fun so far and the feels satisfying and fun if not as crazy-deep as Monster Hunter World. To the people raging about the graphics? Stand down. (…Yes I am the one who wrote in about Stella Blade and yes I like big butts)

Hi Sacred Crew, Last year there were big rumor's of Warner Brothers seeking to sell of it's game division due to it's heavy debts. Ultimately they decided to keep hold of the division and it's proved to be a very wise decision! Over the past year they've had moderate to good success with Gotham knights, Lego Star wars and multiverses and now a smash hit with Hogwarts Legacy. With Suicide Squad out later this year and future titles including Mortal Kombat and Wonder Woman games currently in development will we see Warner invest more in games after the stellar year they have had?

Howdy gents, Is there some ancient curse upon the Brothers Moriarty that prevents them from saying people’s full names? I first noticed it with “Col” and “Dag,” but figured it was a family thing. However, on the HBO Last of Us shows Dagan has started calling Dustin “Dust”. This doesn’t appear to be a nickname like say “Dusty,” but just a refusal to say his full name. Dustin are you offended by being equated to floating dirt? Do we need to issue a Stand Down to the Brothers Moriarty? Just looking out for my boy, Michael “Mike” the Humb

Hello there, you feisty scoundrels. How long is Dustin planning to grow his hair? It looks great right now but I encourage him to go even further - I feel like growing it past the shoulders would really suit him. Yours longingly, shaaaaaake.

The Slobfather

Good day Uncle Col and my sweet cousins. I went for a burger the other day with friends. Just as I was about to bite down one of my friends said you're eating wrong, why is it upside down. So I pick up my burger with my fingers underneath then flip and eat so the sessemeseed bun is on the bottom. I've honestly never thought about it until now. Am I doing wrong? Help this strange Brit change his ways.

Hey guys! Long time, first time. With the dawn of PSVR2 upon us, what do you think Sony needs to do in this VR generation to set itself apart from the last iteration, and more importantly, it’s competitors? Both Meta and Apple are rumored to be launching new headsets themselves this year which will make the market even more saturated for better or for worse. But with a solid lineup of console exclusives and some very unique hardware capabilities like eyetracking and DualSense haptics, I think Sony has the potential to pull it off. All the best, and hope you wined and dined that chicken this Valentine’s Day.

Hello Colin and crew, I am particularly interested in hearing Colin's thoughts on this question, but I would also appreciate everyone's input. As my number of Platinum trophies increases, I have recently found myself in a dilemma. Before starting to play any game, I do extensive research to determine how difficult a trophy might be, search for tips and tricks, and find out if there is any way around certain trophies, how many playthroughs it requires, etc. This has made me question whether this trophy hunting is detracting from my enjoyment of the game. I know you have said before that Platinum trophies make you spend more time with the game, which is a plus, but at what cost? Perhaps we could extract more joy if we play more games instead of this meta-game we play alongside videogames, but that is a matter of personal preference. I often refuse to play certain games if the Platinum trophy is too difficult, or if I would need to make several playthroughs in order to get it. One of my resolutions for 2023 was to play more games, and I think if I can slow down on trophy hunting and focus on just the game, I will be able to play several more. Do you enjoy trophy hunting this much? I used to, but I am now leaning towards the idea that I would be able to play every major title PlayStation releases in a year, alongside more indies and third-party bangers. Stay Sexy, kings. By the way, congratulations to Chris on that picture he posted on twitter, I'm sure hes a contender for Sexiest man Alive now.

Hi guys, You think Sony will ever give tech demos to customers in the wild? 7 years ago I saw a sony rep at best buy with a psvr giving hands on testing. I would have tried it out but didn't want to wait on the line thinking I'd have another chance. I've always been interested with vr but I don't know anyone who has any version of vr (I know I'm in the minority here). Remember all the Nintendo kiosks way back when? With covid, lose of conventions, death of malls etc. doesn't seem like I'll have a chance. Seems like it could have been a slam dunk to have gamestop preview it at least. The last time I went into one of those was to get my blue Vita years ago. P.S.- Colin, you excited about vision quest Aaron Rodgers maybe going to the jets?
