Greetings CDC, With Crystal Dynamics ceasing their support for Marvels Avengers rapidly approaching. Do you guys think they will finally dip their feet back into Legacy of Kain and give some support to those beautiful Pillars of Nosgoth? I feel like that world is well beyond due for a facelift. What say you? Does Crystal Dynamics need to keep focusing on Raiding dusty forgotten tombs? Or do they dive back into flaying the skin from enemies, siphoning the blood of chained prisoners, and the reaving souls of a myriad of ghoulish creatures with an 6 foot black curved sword?

Hello my boys, Is Hogwarts Legacy going to be the death knell for the mainstream games media? From what I can find so far, the only "major" outlets to review the game are IGN, PushSquare, and the Guardian. How do you have these publications/websites not covering what, by all accounts, might be one of the best selling games this year? If someone wont come read your review on a very popular game - because you didn't even write it - then what do you expect people to come to you for?

Hey boys, Just a real quick question. Are you guys coming to Tampa? I know Chris is, but is the rest of the crew? I just know that my job is so busy. That I almost never get a chance to see a live show. Unless it was in Florida. Is there a bar you might do a meet the Sacred symbols crew? Go with care, Luke

Dear helmet heads, The devs behind VR co-op zombie shooter Pavlov have gone on the record to say that their game is 'more efficient' on PS5 compared to a powerhouse 4090 ti. We always knew the development floor for PSVR2 was higher than developing games to run on low end PCs and cell phone processors, but I did not anticipate the ceiling to be higher to the highest end PCs available. Granted this is one studio talking about one game but how excited does this make you for February 22nd?

Hey CDC, Last week Hazelight announced that It Takes Two surpassed 10 million copies sold, an impressive feat for a smaller game. But then earlier this week EA announced that their EA Originals label would no longer be publishing niche games. Am I the only one that thinks the timing of these two announcements seem a bit odd? They just published a game in a very niche genre (couch co-op) that surpassed all of their expectations and their response is to basically move on from that? Am I missing something or is this just as head scratching to you guys? Thanks for the always great show.

Hey guys, With the recent release of Hogwarts Legacy and controversy surrounding it I’ve noticed that several media outlets who went out of their way to trash the game and before release like Kinda Funny lash out at Avalanche and WB for not sending them review codes and only highlighting bad reviews. These same outlets previously said they don’t want to cover the game despite the game clearly being one of the year biggest releases and selling massively. Do you feel developers shouldn’t have to send review codes to outlets who go out of their way to trash them for something like this where they aren’t even at fault or is it not OK for a developer to prevent a journalist from access to a game despite them saying they don’t want to review it. Thanks and all the best as always, David from Israel.

Hi CDC, With Colin and Matty doing a spoilercast of Trails of Cold Steel, does that leave spoilercasts open to older titles? It would be great to see a Danganronpa V.3 spoilercast with Colin, Matty, Dustin and Micah. Also, is there a particular game that each one of you would like to cover in a spoilercast that slip by during its intial release date? Hoping that Sacred Symbols Live will come to NYC soon. To all of the LSM crew, stay safe and take care.

Hello gents, Help me understand something please. I looked at a review roundup for Hogwarts Legacy on embargo day and saw a "review" by a site called Gameshub. The basic jist was to say that by spending money on this game, you are directly supporting J.K Rowling and her views. I'm trying to find a nuanced answer in explaining how this is different (if at all) from buying any new Nintendo game when Saudi Arabia now get a portion of the profits. Because I sure as hell won't expect to find any reviews on Tears of the Kingdom embargo day saying they haven't reviewed it because it's funding Saudi's attack on basic human rights.

Hello Sacred Unit, I would really be interested to hear Colin's opinion on IGN's approach to the Hogwarts Legacy review. The reviewer, Travis Northrup, basically states that the game was reviewed based on its merit and whether he had fun playing it or not. This is apparently a controversial stance, as I saw pushback from a few people about what their job as a "critic" is. As a potential consumer of this content, Travis did exactly what I would expect: Is the actual video game good? Yet I saw many self aggrandizing tweets about the "role of a critic" as if he did something wrong. Did Travis do anything wrong? I actually thought it was refreshing to see an outlet like IGN treat their audience like adults when the Kotaku and Polygons of the world tend to berate their audience like children.

Hello you degenerates , Long time listener first time questioner . This question is more for Dustin the sweet sweet baby boy, have you ever played or heard of a game by the name of Phantasy star online 2 new genesis, it’s full of anime mommy’s with scandalous outfits. I’m talking from thong outfits to huge boob accessories and even an ass slider! Anyways just wanted to put this out there and get it more popularity since it has a small player base. Thank you and keep stroking that chicken .

Hi CDC No question but a short anecdote. My cousin was recently on the hunt for a fun podcast to enjoy while gaming and working and I managed to recruit him to the Gamer Battalion. Sharing the gift of Last Stand Media brings me great joy so if you can send Jan Carlos a sweet kiss as he battles the ferocious snows of Berlin, New Hampshire.

Hello good sirs, While I am playing thru Hogwarts and I am truly loving it. My only gripe is that you can’t paid during cutscenes. Why don’t games allow you to do this? Keep up the great work

Hello Super Sacred Bros! Over the last couple of weeks you guys have been discussing your reservations about Wild Hearts being made by EA because your worried that they will add micro transactions or season passes and possibly ruin the game. However this is an EA Originals game which from my understanding means EA only recoups their marketing costs and then let the studio actually making the game keep the rest of the profits. So EA doesn't make the game nor would they care about the game having a long tail. I hope the game turns out great. It just bothers the hell out of me everytime you guys talk about EA "making" Wild Hearts. Thanks for an otherwise fantastic podcast from a long time Xbox fan that just picked up a PS5.

Hey CDC, I’ve finally decided to give in and I’m buying a PS vita, I’ve wanted to get one for a while now, so I thought I might as well while the vita store is still up. I have a shortish list of games that I’m thinking about buying but would like to know, what vita games do you all recommend? Thank you all for your work on this podcast, as it is my go to listen anytime I’m at work. Anyway thank you for you time, and I hope you spank that chicken vigorously.

Hey sacred gents We’ve heard a lot over the past couple of weeks regarding where people consume content and at what speeds, but have you ever considered this; people listening to Sacred Symbols drunk as fuck? I can’t lie, I usually listen to the first 45 mins to 1 hour on the bus/in a cab home from a night out on a Friday/Saturday and I must say it really elevates the experience. Something about the nonsense conversations land so much better with the inebriated mind. Spare any thoughts for people listening who may or may not have forgotten how to breathe due to intoxication at this very moment? Much love from the disparaged isles of the United Kingdom. And please Colin bring more Always Sunny references to the show. Joe

(Correction) Hello Officer and Gentlemen, Last week the topic of military silent drill team came up in passing. During that discussion a statement was made by Chris which caused a twitch in my eye, a vain to pop out on my neck, and a part of myself was awakened that has been dormant for many years, as I said out loud “What the fuck” while grocery shopping in HEB. Causing at least 3 soccer Moms, to gasp, and cover their young children’s ears. The statement in question, which Chris made with her such gusto and vigor was, “I am pretty sure that’s how they get the sound library for most video games because those sounds don’t happen naturally during combat”. As if Warfare is conducted in the vacuum of space. Well as a Man that spent most of his young adult life fighting in combat, through out the Middle East in service of my beloved Corps, I can assure you weapons do in fact make those noises during combat. From the clashing of metal from sending the bolt home on your M4 or double rack you .50 MG, to the “womp” sound of loading a fresh grenade in to your M203 or Rocket in a Carl G, all sound of manipulating your weapons are there. While the over exaggerated slapping of the wood on the drill teams weapons isn’t there per say (all modern weapons are polymer), the manipulation of the weapons action is present. Colin as a Carpet Bagger in the south now, with his own firearms, I will leave it to you to educate your subordinate and young son. I would suggest some light hazing. I will leave you to it. God bless Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Dick Cheney’s America Sgt. Candelari (USMC)

Hey CDC, You’ve talked about complaints surrounding Final Fantasy XVI that they haven’t gone back to turn based combat after the Luminous Productions era. While I love the action JRPG angle that more modern Final Fantasy games have gone for, what is stopping Square Enix from investing in a high budget turn based Final Fantasy inspired by the success of games like Persona 5? A modern stylish take on a turn based Final Fantasy could have great success. Love the content and when can we expect the Colin v Chris Pay Per View? Connor

Hello Boys Recently I saw an article that listed all of the games that are being taken down indefinitely in 2023 so far two games on that list were Knockout City and Spellbreak. Both of these games I really loved but I stopped playing them after a while just like apparently everyone else. I would have gladly paid $40 or even full price for these games and they may still be alive had they had the stones to charge for their games. How long do you think it will be till it swings the other way and the free to play model goes away and we get to pay for our games so they can stick around longer?

A fine, “How do you do?” to the Sacred Gents. Recently in a Nintendo direct the price was revealed for Legend of Zelda: Tears of the kingdom. A $70 game for the stinky switch. Of course there is outrage a plenty, but to me there is a more interesting note. Nintendo is releasing Pikmin 3 for $60. The day of their direct they released a remaster of Metroid Prime for $40. This would seem to suggest Nintendo is flirting with a Colin-suggested pricing strategy where games are priced not at a set figure, but at a floating price based on each game’s perceived worth. Is that a reasonable read on the situation? Do you think Nintendo’s strategy here might be adopted by more publishers?

Hey guys, Sony is teasing a gow Ragnarok announced at the super bowl. What do you all think it is? New game plus, a pc release? Thanks and keep up the good work.

CDC, After the success of DeadSpace Remake what other PS3 era games would you like to follow a similar blueprint? Surely Take-Two must be looking at Bioshock and thinking about the potential of giving it the DeadSpace treatment… Have a good one, Gabe

The Snacksquatch

Hey guys, Colin, we got a release date for sea of stars. This game looks absolutely amazing. Will you be checking out the demo or just waiting for the full release in August? Thanks for all you guys do.

Hi LSM crew, Have y’all noticed that writing in games seems to be getting worst? I just recently finished Forbidden West and the basic dialogue was so uninteresting that I ended up usually skipping it or muting the game entirely. Do you think this is a symptom of games becoming for “everyone” and 40+ hr open world adventures or are writers just worse than they were 5 years ago?

Friends, What’s up with Nintendo charging $70 for that new Zelda game , but only for that new Zelda game? I’ve already seen Nintendo fans tweeting “Forspoken was $70, so i dont mind Zelda being that too.” While I agree that the price increase of titles was a needed thing to support gaming as an industry, this seems a bit predatory on the nintendo side of things. They only increased the price of their (last gen) title that they know is going to be a blockbuster? A company thats notorious for never reducing the price of their games even years after they’ve released? Please help me make sense of this
