For two decades, Sony's London Studio has been known almost exclusively for its casual fare, usually driven by a peripheral, whether it's a camera, microphone, or even Move. But a recent conversation the team's two co-leads conducted with an industry publication indicates definitively that recent rumors were true: London Studio is pursuing a more hardcore course, specifically with an online co-op game-as-a-service that's set in a fantasy-themed London. (How fitting.) Is PlayStation's most inconsequential team about to run up the pecking order as part of a new, multiplayer-centered initiative? We discuss. Other news this week includes the construction of a new first party team allied closely with Naughty Dog, confirmation of an Unreal Engine 5-run Witcher remake from CD Projekt, the exit of studio Rocksteady's talented co-founders, the potential return of Square Enix's Parasite Eve, and more. Then: Listener inquiries. Will AAA PSVR2 games cost $70, too? How can we get back to the three year dev cycle? Did patching ruin game launches forevermore? Does Dustin know what "Oingo Boingo" means?

In some cases, calling someone the N word in CoD doesn't make someone racist. They're just using the most extreme words or insults they can think of and are trying to get a rise or reaction. Trolls gonna troll. Just like on the other side everyone who disagrees is automatically Hitler or a fascist. How our society communicates online seems to devolve to extremes and in some cases (like CoD) starts extreme and moves from there.

I think there are certain words that should be exercised from people's vocabulary, and that's one.

At this point, I kinda don’t want new IP. I’d rather play my favorite franchises and the games I know/like. Backlog is getting ridiculous as well.

Great episode as always. Regarding the last question on game launches, you guys must be glad you don't get early access. You're getting more enjoyment from the game with a day 1 patch than others with early access. This patching culture needs to improve, day 1 is fine I guess but 2-3 months after is not acceptable. Maybe crunch getting a bad press has made things worse?

A curious thought on the new consoles. I still haven't seen a PS5 in the wild (got mine at launch) but have seen plenty of Xbox X and S. Also it seems every week I see them on sale $20 off, $50 off, free controller, free game, etc. That doesn't seem like a good look, especially with the sustainability of Gamepass question. I've had my Xbox S for like a year and half and have only payed for 2 months of Gamepass because of cashing in their rewards program. Seems like a lot of loss.

Dude, Maury Moriarty sounds epic. I back it. I’ve never heard of Dead Man’s Party ‘til now. 👀 Sounds ok. I’ll put my pennies in for Thriller. Christmas I gotta go with “Hard Candy Christmas”. I’m a sad sad boy.

I love Colin listing all his disliked genres: CRPGs, Point and Clicks, Souls games and Puzzle Games. Quite literally 4 of my favourite genres hahaha. It's strange considering that puzzle and adventure games specifically are the preemptive genres for non violence, something Colin generally reveres. Maybe Disco will sway you on the crpg front.

I’m a big Souls fan, and I also really do not like Nioh and the Wo Long demo felt just as bad. I don’t think they feel at all like From’s games.

Colin, I don't want to be "that" guy. But you mentioned in the video that prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms are single-cellular and multi-cellular respectively. I would have let it pass, but you boasted about your biology skills after that. Prokaryotes don't have a nucleus, eucaryotes do. Prokaryotes are always single-cell, eukaryotes can be both single-cell and multi-cell. Sorry for the long comment I know no one cares.

We don't reprint all the money in the UK, we just filter new money into the system with King Chazza on it so there will be a period of both Elizabeth and Charles currency circulating. Given how quick the UK is going cashless I doubt we'll ever reach the point that there will only be Charles currency.

Thanks for blatantly spoiling tlou2 again Chris....real nice

Imagine if call of duty had a right wing message? The people complaining about the lack of overarching message would tell the devs to go back to not making any statements at all and making games.
