In a jam packed week, we have many stories that could compete for the headlines. Google Stadia's closure, Xbox's Activision propaganda, the acquisition of various media outlets, or even CD Projekt Red's slew of game announcements. In the spirit of accountability, none other than PlayStation should dominate this one. In a rumored move showing little shame, they are set to do a The Last Of Us Part 1 style "remake" for 2017's PS4 exclusive, Horizon: Zero Dawn. As the goal posts have continued to move back throughout the generation beginning with $10 upgrades, we have now found ourselves collectively in a position where we must demand better. In the case of us, an Xbox show, we must plead with Microsoft that they do not follow a trend PlayStation is clearly trying to establish where there is much money to be made. Creative ventures will always be risky and there are such ways to mitigate that, but this slap in the face to consumers must be taken to task. Fret not, Xbox catches their own set of shade as they indulge in their own version of propaganda by forging a brand new website around the incomplete Activision deal. As it stands, the site shows off why this deal will be good for gamers, developers, and the industry at large. As always with the Dukes, we must call it as we see it. That said, this sour batch of news hasn't stolen the joy from Dead Space Remake's gameplay, the latest Game Pass drop, and CD Projekt Red's massive potential.

I love the idea of remaking old games.. if you don't like it don't buy it simple

There’s No I in LLC

I will say as an avid playstation fan. Becoming remake city sucks. Itd be nice if the Playstation I support gave me NEW things to love.

There seems to be a real overreaction over the recent Horizon news, it doesn't sound like it'll be a full $70 remake, and will be more in line with Uncharted Lost Legacy and Spiderman Remastered, ie a touched up remaster. The recent leak also shows that Guerilla are working on a few other projects so it's hardly taking up a huge amount of their resources. So that's really not a huge deal imo, and titles like this podcast's is just going overboard. I will say though that alot of this outrage is likely due to the unknown of what Sony is working on, so I agree with you on wanting to see new things. Clearly they have a ton of studios now working on mostly unannounced projects, not to mention some 3rd party exclusives. So once we get the next batch of announcements from them and can really see how the next few years will pan out apart from Spiderman/Factions/Wolverine, I think all this "remake studios" talk from some people will look silly in hindsight

Tyee

Does horizon zero dawn classified as a old game?

drivebyjoe

If they want to remake every game it wouldn't bother me.. then I pick and choose which ones I want.. it's not like it's my money they using to make the games

Matty mentioned that you could get a platinum trophy for Toy Story 2 on PlayStation. Did they add trophies? I played it a little when it first came out on PS+ and I didn’t think it had trophies.

I just figure I'm more likely to find a unicorn holding a four-leaf clover with a horseshoe up its ass then Colin doing an Xbox exclusive spoilercast. It'd be awesome, I just wanted to keep my request within the realms of reality lol.

Tyee

Literally LOL I actually laugh out loud when I read that and I can’t disagree with you on that

I like remakes for older games too, let's get some shit like Legend of Dragoon remade, not the recent best hits.

Carter Evenson

#RemakeDD thanks for getting me through a hungover commute back from 2 days at a WILD work event directly following my buddies 21st, great ep as always

Ryan

I actually like remakes.

Big Boss Games

People are so negative on Sony lately. But at the meanwhile Sony is bringing out the best games in the bizz. Games like forbidden West, GT 7, Ragnorak next month,... While the competition is lacking these kind of games at the moment...

Josh Walker

Didn't Jim Ryan say, "people don't play old games?" Old games could be a month old to him. We don't know. Someone ask the important questions.
