Sizing Up PlayStation's "Game Pass" | Defining Duke Ultimate Episode 68

PlayStation has delivered a sample size of what to expect in their renovated service that will attempt to stand toe-to-toe with Xbox Game Pass. With Matty and Cog being Game Pass vets, we know that PlayStation Plus will need time to establish an identity much like its competitor did. So, with that, we take an early inspection of its backwards compatible offerings (or lack thereof), current generation library, and trials system to weigh out the good versus the bad.

wow an early defining duke I was not expecting this

Anybody else think Matty looks like ProJared from an alternate dimension? Like if he was ginger and had the "evil" facial hair.

Matt Soucy

No Twisted Metal is actually insane.

Listening now, but I can’t share the same enthusiasm for either service. I’m someone who doesn’t believe in “renting” games forever (game pass etc), and hope Sony keeps games off this service. Give us a way to buy physical or digital remastered titles WITHOUT DRM issues.

I think physical games will become like records/vinyl/cds is to streaming music. Still available, in limited quantities. But not cheap.

We need to be as critical of Xbox as we are ps. I don’t feel that energy. Talk about inconsistency how the hell is the outer worlds dlc not part of game pass. That shit blows my mind.

? Since when have CDs become expensive? If anything they're WAY cheaper nowadays.. You can get brand new releases of CDs for like 12$ now. Vinyl is more expensive, at around 30$ a disk. However that's because of the nature of pressing said Vinyls. It's really expensive to set up... (but cheap for these music labels due to volume of sales) This is why one-off releases are so expensive in places like Limited Run.
