Sony's annual financial report brings with it good news for the brand. PlayStation, as usual, is the most important vertical in its corporate family in Japan, pulling in the most revenue and raking in the highest profit (even more than Sony Pictures, currently in a renaissance of its own). Yet, with PlayStation 5 doing well, Sony has a serious issue: It still can't manufacture enough PS5s to satiate demand. Not even close, in fact. Such a situation isn't only allowing its competitor to catch up; it's also creating doubt regarding if they can even fix the problem at all. Yet, they're hoping to right the ship over the next year, where they essentially intend to double their sales. Will they succeed? Only time will tell. Elsewhere in the industry, Electronic Arts has pulled the plug on its 30-year FIFA franchise, opting -- as rumors indicated -- to go it alone. But FIFA is ready to fight back, and with eFootball in the mix, too, things should get quite interesting in the soccer space in the years to come. Plus: Elden Ring sells huge, Gotham Knights is cancelled on PS4, Outriders was a financial dud, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Should cloud saving be free? When should Sony have a games showcase? What ever happened to Army of Two? Will Colin sell Last Stand Media to the communists?

I'm kinda proud of the fact I once said "What happens if Tencent bought Patreon?" and it has like taken over your mind. I'm also sorry about that too lol.

I restarted Tiny Tina and turned dialogue in the settings all the way to 0. This playthrough has been much more enjoyable to say the least. I just throw on a podcast. Very fun shooter though!

Regarding Fifa. Ive played them all since fifa 09 and some random ones before then (98 was a good one). I've personally wanted other devs to take over Fifa for years. The core game mode before Ultimate Team was career mode and that hasn't changed in many years in any meaningful way with all dev time going to loot boxes. One of the big draws of Fifa over eFootball or Pro Evo before was licenses. Fifa had all the teams, leagues and players. The other games do not. Whether or not the fifa name also brings those other licenses remains to be seen but if those licensed elements disappeared from EAs fifa it would die overnight as the gameplay alone is nowhere near good enough - and people want to play with thier favourite teams and players.

Dustin, I’m a camera operator and I filmed Paul McCartney at SoFi in LA. You’re going to love the show, Paul’s set is close to 2.5 hrs and he plays a lot of the best songs from his Beatles and Wings catalog!

It’s definitely strange that FIFA 22 was given away as a PS+ game this month. More strange is that you got a PlayStation Plus FUT Pack ( ultimate team card pack ) free as part of the offering.

Dear lord we got Dustin comparing a single anime to Game of Thrones AND Quentin Tarantino… Stand Down

A WWE wrestling RPG made in a similar style to Dodgeball Academia could be awesome with the campy storylines, some over the top voice acting, and a turn based combat system with some times interactivity for counters or combos like persona 5 or Mario rpg.

I wonder if there's an objective way to categorise anti-consumer practices. Using online multiplayer as an example, why can't I access an essential part of a game I've paid for just because I'm not subscribed PS Plus/Xbox Live/ NSO? Is that not detrimental to the customer? Some would say yes, especially since Steam doesn't charge you for it. If Steam can do it why can't these other big companies? But according to the millions of people who are subscribed to these services they probably don't think so, after all someones gotta pay to maintain the online infrastructure right? Or maybe the multiplayer game they want to play is only available on a particular system(Splatoon, etc...) so they don't have a choice and they don't care. So who's objectively right? Am I making sense?

Yes god forbid people get upset about Jim Ryan talking about respecting people's opinions about taking away reproductive rights in the same breath as talking about his cats, wanting to own a dog, traveling to Japan, and the latest thing Netflix shit out.

If you think THAT was performative, wait until you listen to your monologue in your latest SS+ mailbag.

I completely agree with Chris about looking before you sit down or looking for tp before taking your pants down. Now if only this Chris was on the Sopranos instead of Christophah, Cosset have lived. Things may have ended differently for them both.
