While lots of viewers obviously love the first season of Game of Thrones, it's the second season -- which first aired on HBO in 2012 -- many consider the beginning of the series' long-running and well-earned golden era. There's action all over the map: In the far-north with rumblings of 'A King Beyond the Wall,' in Winterfell and the Iron Islands, which stir with and fall victim to the spirit of raiding, across the Narrow Sea in Essos, where we discover a desert city called Qarth, and certainly at King's Landing, which is set to be invaded at any moment. There's a lot more going on, too, which is how Game of Thrones rolls. It's dense with characters and plot. Thus, we do the best we can to not only make sense of it all, but touch on the characters, moments, and arcs that stood out to us most, from the relationship between Arya and Tywin and the drama between Jaime and Brienne to the Battle of Blackwater Bay and the reignition of a fiery old religion.

Season 2 is great, but for me season 1 will always be King of the Seven Kingdoms.

I hope you are enjoying the books. Let the density take hold of you. It's one of the only series I was able to get sucked into (I never got into Harry potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings). The history breeds so much life into the world. Book Four is very enjoyable since it deviates the most from the show but still builds upon the world. Another great episode and I cannot wait for Season 3.

Great episode boys. Interesting fact, the director of the episode for the battle of the black water was just on a live stream with a big YouTuber called the critical drinker. He directed the movies Dog Soldiers, The Descent, and doomsday. Some of the extras of doomsday were on game of thrones and recommended him to direct the biggest battle episode due to the original director dropping our last minute. He got offered the job on a Friday, started on Monday, and only had one week to do all of the prep for the episode. The actor that played Davos Seaworth was also one of the lead actors in this directors first movie, Dog Soldiers, so it was like a full circle moment for him.

Just a quick correction. In the show it was actually Joffrey that has all the bastards killed. It was Cersei in the books. I remember this clearly since it was one of the changes made to her character to give her a bit more humanity.

We’re literally going to have to sit through 7 episodes of this aren’t we. I hate this so much lol

LastStandMedia

You don't have to sit through anything. It's a podcast, you have the option not to listen.

Col dude when you went on about the moldy hot pocket....I was reminded of a similar situation. Recently I went into a Chinese buffet, and at the end when I took a bite out of my fortune cookie something wasn't right. I swallowed it anyway and looking inside the other half of the cookie, only to find black spots of mold covering the entirety of the inside. I was mortified. I don't think I can ever or will ever eat a fortune cookie again. 🤮

Wonderful episode. A little liquid magic loosens Colin up!

8 episodes actually. There are 8 seasons. And I can’t wait. These have been the best Knockback Episodes Yet

Forrest Hunter

“In bed watching things I can only get away with when Micah’s not here.” Oh shit, Colin’s watching midget clown po- “Medieval history documentaries.”

TROTMAC96

I think I'm gonna vote for the A Song of Ice and Fire books the next time a Knockback general vote comes up.

MeatSpin11

Maybe it was covered, but is there a reason Stannis was able to make a shadow demon w/e to kill Remly and not every other one of his enemies? Seems like a bit of a plot hole.

1. Definitely thought Dagan was going to tell us a story about catching two or more people getting busy in that suv. Where's the deviency? 😂 2. Dagans new York accent coming out when he said "and I got offended". All I was thinking after that was "I'm making a sauce" 😂 Great show guys as always.
