I got a fight stick and it’s way more fun I think. You get to mash buttons and it’s really like being at an arcade. Guilty gear strive is a great place to jump in!

To some people fight sticks can help with button mashing. I use 3 different sticks with different movement options. My favorite one that I use in almost all fighting games is a snackbox micro. It’s a version of a hit box which has buttons for movement instead of a stick. Guilty Gear Strive is a very beginner friendly game.

fight stick question: I originally wanted to LOVE Street Fighter 5 when it came out. I was like "This is the moment for me to learn." Whelp, got my ass handed to me and got really frustrated with the Training mode of all things.. Went to Gamestop and bought the official Street Fighter 5 Fight Stick.. yeah... didn't make me like it any better. I traded them both back in, took my losses. But I'll tell you what, the late Mortal Kombat games by Netherrealm have always been the games that I can get into, enjoy, play a few towers, the "unlocks" are fun - and the fatalities really make the game "fun" to grind through. I never touch Online - because (again) I get my ass handed to me and lose my confidence. But playing through the Story (that I really don't understand) and dicking around with the AI just to unlock fun interesting things in the Krypt.. I think it's a full package, pretty fun, the PS5 upgrade for Mortal Kombat 11 is really pretty -- it's the only fighting game that I enjoy. Hope these help?
