Did Cog really just describe Elder Scrolls swordplay as “butter knife”? Lmaoo great episode, Dukes!

Big titty drinker

Hey that advice segment of the podcast was really dope. Matty and Cogs positive personalities offer a unique perspective for more pessimistic people like me. Also I must say you guys did a fantastic job of being fair and balanced this episode. I’m pretty loud when I disagree with y’all so I wanna be just as loud when yall are killing it!

Hey cog or matty, do you pronounce Gif like Jif or Gif?

You all often seem so negative in comparison to how I feel as someone who plays exclusively this gen on Xbox. I think there are two differences, one I don't have time to finish every game that comes out within a week or two of launch so if there is a few weeks with no release I probably have an "old" game to go back to. The other is I don't understand why we only count exclusive or first-party games. As someone who plays on Xbox I like first-party games because they are good but if a 3rd party game is good and on xbox that is equally good in my eyes. The only reason I see for not treating that as equal is council war stuff. When I turn on my xbox and decide what to play I don't feel like we have had an empty first 1/4 of the year. I can choose between elden ring, destiny 2, nobody saves the world, dying light 2, and rainbow six extraction. And that assumes that you beat every single game you were interested in in 2021, Which I certainly did not. Any way the negativity often gets bit much for me. On A different note, one other thing that could be exciting about the initiatives model is some of the larger studios could break into multiple small teams. Think 3 small verry skilled teams BGS that work on the hardest part of the game then let XBOX “throw money at it later”

While this was bit of a downer episode, I agree with you guys on Halo. Honestly, I don't understand why Xbox doesn't treat Halo like their Mario. There should be a littany of spin-off Halo games that vary in quality (like Mario), but every mainline release should be an undeniable, unimpeachable master-class game. Master Chief is one tier below Mario, Sonic and Pokemon in terms of being iconic and known to non-gaming people. My parents know Mario, Sonic and Pokemon decently well, and they vaguely know of Master Chief (Halo guy) because Halo 3 was so massive, They never heard of Kratos or Nathan Drake, but Playstation still treats these characters better.

Yeah, I'm not even a particularly busy person, but I wonder how some casters and the people that write in find time to play everything so quickly. I don't care about the lack of first party games on GP recently as we've had multiple third party games I didn't get a chance to get to last year like the ME Trilogy and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Is this slowly morphing into a self help and positivity podcast? 😂

I haven't even played Halo Infinite yet, and Cog is preparing the red flag?!?! I'm still afraid this live service job was too much, too soon for 343. Is this game Microsoft's only plan for the Halo franchise during this Xbox generation? (10 year plan?)
