Just a couple of weeks after Xbox surprised this industry, PlayStation reveals they're acquiring Bungie. Yes, Bungie! The studio who was formerly owned by Microsoft, teamed up with Activision, took an investment from NetEase, and is now apart of the PlayStation Studios family. Joining us is Hoeg Law to offer legal insight on the fine print of this deal as well as helping the Duke break down Bungie's firm independence even when being acquired. Is this a template for future deals or merely a one time offer? Was this deal sparked by recent moves by Microsoft? So many questions to ask and perhaps the answer is none other than Project Spartacus: The PlayStation Game Pass competitor.

Bit clickbait, no? A deal like this was in the works for at least 5 months. Whereas Jeff Grubb said that Xbox started to talk to Activision around November.

There is no point the acquisition benefits PS gamers. Why would people buy a PS5 if they can play Destiny elsewhere? Sony should have saved their money and could have bought Capcom. Having Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom for EVO would have justified the purchase alone.

Absolute great show. Hoeg was on fire! And I loved his analysis of how this is not a direct response to Activision but the speed and the price and the negotiations were definitely impacted by and in response to Activision.

An amazing show guys! Hoeg's insight on the legal side was like nothing I've heard with all the multiple options out there. I loved when he said their trying do their own "MCU". I haven't heard anyone else say the option, seems a lot of ppl can only talk about the video game side of it. But with Sony pictures, for better or for worst they are going for some type of big TV show / movie deal. Also I agreed with your guys Spartacus predictions you all throughout. Love the show!
