We'll give it to you straight. Hot off The Game Awards, it hasn't been a great look for "modern gaming." The NFT floodgates have burst wide open, massive delays are inbound, and now those sacred video game discs don't even arrive with the full game on them. Matty and Cog cut through the noise and get to the heart of each of these matters. Such as the highly anticipated reveal of Splinter Cell with a brand new remake. Should a company as creatively and morally bankrupt as Ubisoft be trusted with such a revered series anymore? This could be the cause of more harm than good. Beyond that, a timed Xbox exclusive has rolled out an NFT offering that is widely maligned. Developer GSC Game World has offered paying customers the chance to become an NPC in game through their own NFT program. It has not been pretty, so Matty and Cog offer no mercy on this one. In other news, we dig into the continuous offerings of Game Pass, Bully 2 rumors, and Forza Horizon 5 sales!

Stalker 2 really ruined their reputation with this NFT fiasco. I hope they listen to the fans and change their trajectory before the game comes out.

I bet they were going to announce Bully: definitive edition, and then after The GTA debacle, they were like, "nah nah.... Its uh... Gonna be a remake."

Great episode this week. Now I feel like I finally need to play Bully.

How much for the NFT to this podcast?

As a longtime Alien franchise fan I have to say that Fireteam is another misfire for me. Plays cheap and looks cheap IMO. More of a realistic feel like LOU or Gears is what I want, something with weight. The aliens all feel off and cheap.

I feel this. I am a big Alien fan and I bought this game at launch and I kinda regret it. Exactly what you said, just feels cheap and the endgame is just not there. Also, I hated the update where they maxed out all weapon levels for guns you own. That was one of the main driving forces for me to continue playing and that is when I just lost interest in playing. I feel like Alien games are similar to Warhammer games. They have one or two good ones and the rest are just on the verge of being good

Yo Cog, I gotta tell you if you’re a fan of turret classes you need to check out Deep Rock Galactic! It’s on Game Pass and they just updated it with a free season pass. You mentioned that you like Destiny’s Christmas theme and DRG does the same this time of year. There’s an Engineer class with a turret and the gameplay is super fun.

Thankfully I got to play for free on Gamepass, I just bought a Series S (first time Xbox owner). Sorry that happened, unfortunately as fans this franchise has been a letdown in almost every facet for a while.

I really don't look forward to Sega acquisition, it sucks that Bethesda is going to keep games off other consoles and I wouldn't like Sega to do the same. Who knows if they will or not but to keep them independent will insure it.

Speaking candidly about it in a documentary, admirable. Joking about a near 50% failure rate that cause me and countless others to have to deal with terrible customer service and ship our consoles back three times, deplorable.
