It's time to once more welcome lawyer Rick Hoeg back to the show. After all, there are many important items on the docket for us to catch up on! We end with what many of you may be most keen to hear -- accusations made against now-fired PlayStation SVP George Cacioppo -- but we begin with other pressing legal issues. The situation at Activision has evolved greatly, with Bobby Kotick indicating he may be open to leaving the company he once saved from extinction, while the publisher's various studios are countering with a cacophony of employee-led actions, including walkouts. Meanwhile, serious accusations at Ubisoft have been swept under the rug (we only have so much collective consciousness), so we wanted to revisit those, too, to see where we stand. We also delve into the realm of Take Two, which is currently on a trademark-infringement spree that likes of which we rarely see in the industry. Are they just Bullies (pardon the pun)? Let's go!

The “we only have so much collective consciousness” bit is hysterical. Really enjoy these conversations 👍

Anybody else having issues with the link? I keep getting "Not found."

Me too. The YouTube link is working, not the podcast in Patreon for me.

Mines keep saying ‘failed’ when trying to download

I’m getting a “Failed,” error when I try downloading the episode here on the Patreon app. It hasn’t shown up in my RSS feed, either.

Thanks Dustin. I think I got around it (on mobile) by long press the link and hit download link.

HOEG! 🚀🌕

Glad to see you’ve changed your stance on unions. While they can bloat and become bad (like when the mob started becoming more entrenched in them in the 40’s/50’s), a well regulated union ensures working members are able to have a comfortable life for themselves and their families.

Michael Thew

Unions and those that support them are either idiots or those that suck at what they do and couldn’t make it at an open shop. Rampant laziness and inflated prices for the goods they produce are the only things unions do in the last 40 years. I’ll never work for a union again, I’ll bet on myself and let the quality of my work do the talking when negotiating my wage

Kyle Clayton

A little harsh, but I would definitely agree that they breed mediocrity

Like any organizations there are good ones and there are bad one. I’ve worked and thrived in both union and non-union shops. The only ones I have a philosophical issue are public unions. Educate yourself Mr. Thew before making blanket comments like this.

The unsolicited “hot take” of the day. As usual completely lacking in nuance and based on one persons anecdotal experience.

Everything Hoeg touch’s is Gold. Another excellent episode.
