In an episode chockful of time traveling, we breakdown all that transpired during the bemoaned Game Awards. It was advertisements galore, television, celebrities and movies aplenty, where you had a sneaking suspicion that Joel McHale was going to make a surprise return somewhere throughout. Despite all of this, we at least had games and many promising ones at that! Among those was the highly anticipated reveal of Hellblade 2's gameplay which many thought were pure cinematics. Indeed, Ninja Theory wowed the industry with their Unreal Engine 5 developed exclusive and there was plenty more to feast on beyond this reveal. Matty and Cog also dig into the latest "PlayStation Game Pass" and what a real challenge could mean for Microsoft moving forward in a space that was controlled only by them. That, plus Battlefield restructuring, an XBOX HANDHELD, more Activision shake-ups, and yes, even Halo Infinite updates.

The Dukes are back baby

Did you guys forget about Alan Wake 2? Easily the most exciting announcement of the night for me.

I wonder if the FF7 remake delay on Xbox is related to the last gen consoles. FF7 remake intergrade is only available on PS5. So Square would need to release a separate version on Xbox without intergrade or just a series x/s version. They may just wait to release a next gen package for Xbox with part 2.

Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all time I'm so excited for 2 can't believe it's been 10 years

Will Hahn

Congrats again Cog! I know how much it means just to have an opportunity you are excited about. Best of luck in your new role and I hope it exceeds your expectations.

Matty, I may not always agree with your reviews or opinions on games, or maybe even other things, but I respect your opinion just as much as other people I’ve been following for years like a Colin. You’re well spoken and not afraid to be critical and upfront and that’s the real deal. Plus, I always see you uploading something so I see the grind all the time and you can’t help but respect that. Keep your head up my guy, you are a gem. I just finished Shining Pearl and it was eh. I love Pokémon, it’s 1 of my comfort games as well, but Gen 4 doesn’t do it for me. Matty, you definitely gotta play Inside. The PlayDead guys know how to nail tone and atmosphere as well as telling a story in-game. That’s why I can’t wait for Somerville as it’s from 1 of the old PlayDead guys. #OculusDD
