The Possibilities of PlayStation Mobile | Sacred Symbols+ Episode 123

With Jim Ryan's recent proclamation that PlayStation-licensed mobile games would be incoming "sooner than we think," we were left to wonder what may ultimately find its way to our phones and tablets. Then a surprise announcement occurred, one that Sony itself couldn't be any less interested in: Wipeout Rush. On the back of this relatively silent reveal, we're left to discuss what could be next. And discuss we do. Each of the three of us bring to this very episode five PlayStation IP we think could see life on mobile platforms (for 15 total), along with about a dozen of your own suggestions. Within, you'll find some interesting chatter, no doubt, but perhaps some ideas that may soften even the hardest and rockiest of console gaming fans. Or not.

New patreon here and I love the content. Best 5 dollars I spend every month! Thank you LSM.

RE: MLB The Show - there was a homerun derby version of The Show on PS3...only notable because of its quick and easy trophies. But that would totally work on a phone.

Leo Sanchez

I love Dustin's Bloodborne spin-off idea so much. But I want that for PS5 or Vita, not for phones haha

Brian Salazar

Ghost of Tsushima but like infinity blade and a Kick The Buddy style game except you’re Abby beating the shit out of Joel.

Just to clarify my comment on the show: I also do not want a fighting game on mobile. I'd want a hero collector, something like Raid Shadow Legends or AFK Arena, but using a mishmash of Sony's IP, but in a genre that is proven to work on mobile.

Julian Zhu

just work with Mistwalker and put a new JRPG like Fantasian on Mobile. it just makes sense. what we will most likely get: playstation all-stars the mobile moba from tencent

Legend of Dragoon on mobile would break my heart. To see my favourite game of all time brought forward this way, I would be so crestfallen. Lets give it to BluePoint, make it a from the ground up remake on PS5. No more of this mobile business, don't speak it into existence.

LastStandMedia

It really wouldn't be the end of the world. I wouldn't want to play it there, per se, but JRPGs make the jump nicely.

The Lizard King

Uncharted Go or TLOU Go are my two cop out answers. Easy money.

DirtyIncomeTax

There actually is an Uncharted mobile game already. Uncharted: Fortune Hunter. It's an action-puzzle game. I haven't played it in years, but I remember enjoying it.

Cody Richter

Great episode as always guys! Appreciate you mentioning my write in and Chris made some valid points about why something like GoW or Jak wouldn't be best suited for a phone. Maybe my nostalgic love for that game just outweighs the compatibility of something like that.

Drew Sleezer

I know I'm late but I am surprised no one mentioned a gacha game. Aloy recently was in Genshin Impact, Star Wars/Marvel has a few games and square enix is deep into this genre with FF Dissidia: Opera Omnia, FF Brave Exvius and Kingdom Hearts Union. Just do playstation allstars turnbased grindfest but rake in the cash with each character release like everyone else.

Matthew Deane

Great video with a lot of great ideas but as a guy who doesn’t like mobile gaming I couldn’t help but think they would be even better on a PSP2/VITA2. A man can dream.

Wayne Moss

Oh I remember this game on iOS I think if you linked it to uncharted 2 you unlocked some skins in the iOS game.

Not related but this is my favourite tweet ever and I could not help myself but boot up Directors cut last night. Keep on keeping on. https://mobile.twitter.com/DustinCanFly/status/1441416101569699841/photo/1

New patreon member. Love yalls stuff. Want to start beating the drum now for PSVR content in the lead up to PSVR 2. I know the team isn’t big on it yet but maybe an expert from another YouTube channel. Watch a lot of Without Parole reviews and their content.
