The Sony Strategy | Sacred Symbols+ Episode 121

On Sacred Symbols, we love to get into the nitty-gritty by talking about as many games as possible. It's easy to get excited about the plethora of releases, but what about analyzing the overall strategy? From leadership to how they interact with their audience, Sony has completely shifted their overall dynamics since the PlayStation 4 generation. I (Dustin) brought on PlayStation-centric YouTuber MBG to discuss Sony and PlayStation's overall strategy thus far, and to speculate on what's next. Enjoy! Christ almighty mbg. Really dislike his content on YouTube, click bait, fan boy rants. I followed sacred symbols to get away from this kind of take on gaming.

I've never heard of the guy before, but I'll give him a chance. Thanks for the warning though ;)

You see, Dustin. I am now a member of this Patreon for the time being. I am telling you, just put MBG and I will follow. This episode was great, I will try to check out the other content. I hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Anyone hating on the crew for conducting and interview with different people with different opinions and views is just close minded. Would you rather it was always the same opinion and take you have a certain game/ game topic? I personally like to hear and see different opinions as thats what makes discussion worthwhile. keep it up last stand! great work

I don't think anyone is hating but rather being critical which is absolutely ok. I for one absolutely want to hear different opinions in the interviews but also want to hear different opinions in the comments from the fans. How can you promote difference of opinion in the interviews and when fans have a different view you call it hate? Honest question.

TrackyMatts

With you James. I'm happy to see different opinions and viewpoints on the shows. However, I'd prefer them to be reputable people with a good level of knowledge on the subject. Not necessarily just friends of the CLS family.

Dencio

Please have mystic Ryan on the show

You guys made solid points I cant argue with. :) Thats why I like this community. Because we can have conversations, listen to each other and not be critical and also help broaden our thoughts on these types of things :)

We are all here for the same thing and that’s our love for PlayStation, Xbox and Colin and the crew so rather than argue or not be open to people’s comments and opinions, we should all keep a fun and engaging community. My name is Tom by the way ( I go by Tomye. (Im a drummer so my stage name and stuff is Tomye West (Like Kanye but with a Tom at the start and not kan). Hope your doing well dude!

TrackyMatts

Yep - we're grown-ups (some of us - there might be youngsters here) and can have a sensible conversation. :)

Jim Ryan is making blunders with HZD etc but we are also getting KOTOR, FFXVI and Wolverine exclusives under him also. It may not be the PlayStation we are used to from PS4 but he will leave PlayStation in a more financially better off place, that equates to making them bigger games as game dev is getting more expensive

We gonna' have crapgamer on next or what? Lol. Good episode overall. Regardless on how I feel about MBG.

William Aguilar

I think the detractors are not keeping it 💯 as far as their opinions on MBG. MBG is fantastic and he always trust to keep it real and look at things with an eye towards quality and reason. I am so glad to see MBG on this show I hope to see him again.

I'm not a fan of MBG (he leaps before he looks way too much for my liking), but I'll give this episode a listen. Dustin is a very good conversationalist.

Grant Ritchey

Enjoyed the conversation. My one gripe is MBG was almost equating PlayStation games to Nintendo games in terms of their value (price-wise.) I remember you could buy TLOU2 half price by the holiday season of 2020, which was just a couple of months after it was released. On sale, you can buy Demon Souls for $50 instead of $70....same with Returnal. Overall a great conversation.

The Eclectic Gamer

Why would Colin or any other community members give a damn if someone wants to post a singular comment across multiple threads or if one patron wants to comment multiple times… I don’t see what the issue is.

Matthew Deane

Really enjoyed this episode, interesting conversation.
