The Writing (and Playing) of Trigger Witch | Sacred Symbols+ Episode 112

We love our indie games here on Sacred Symbols, as you know, and I (Colin) would like to take a moment today to discuss one of them in-depth: Trigger Witch. The reasons I want to discuss this title, not surprisingly, are manifold. For starters, it's really fun. It's a twin-stick shooter about an arsenal-wielding witch, and it's charming, witty, and appropriately bite-sized. Also, my buddies over at Rainbite made this game, which you should note. But even more interesting than that, to me, is that my friend Jono Pech wrote the game itself. This is where I want to truly delve in, because as you may recall, I've started writing games recently, too, and I suspect we've much to discuss. Our chat is wide-ranging, but it does get into spoiler territory, so be aware. But if you want to know what it's like to pen a game, well... this show's for you.

Got the platinum, really cool game. There are something that could be clearer like the fact that there is a broom section in the arena. Jono told me about it, because a reviewer thought it was bugged since he got it at the first section in NG+. The trophy count the number you did instead of checking you did them all. The 4 guns in 10 seconds was also finicky for me, had to do it like 20 times for it to work. Just like Reverie, it was a really fun game.

Trigger Witch was great! I thought the music was awesome. I especially liked the music around Shimmer Lode. The twist at the end was fantastic

Thanks! The four guns one has to be a new weapon per kill... so four guns and only four kills. I think we’ve patched it to make it simpler now!
