Kristine Steimer has worked everywhere in the gaming industry. She did PR for Xbox, spent years as an IGN Editor, designed Facebook games for BioWare, worked community for PlayStation, helped shepherd The Witcher franchise at CD Projekt, and now spends her days at YouTube Gaming and evenings at What's Good Games.

Did I mention that she was my roommate for four years, too?

Today's episode is all about games. No surprise there.

Yay Steimer!

Great episode. I’ve missed the game talk from you. Glad you’re back playing for fun.

This was truly dope! Unfortunately I was unfamiliar with Steimer's work before this podcast but I will definitely be checking out what's good games! She seems really chill. And knowledgeable. to hear you speak about games again, and from a much more relaxed and refreshed vantage :)

Stanley Yeung

Monthly check-ins with Steimer would be a great feature.

Colin, what did you originally want to call Kinda Funny? I couldn't make out what you said.

Scott Rabideau

This was a nice laid back chat. I enjoyed it immensely and hope she becomes a recurring guest. Nice work!

This was a great podcast. I've know Steimer from when she was with Gregg but really have never listened to any of her podcasts. That will change from now on. I'm happy to see you talk about games Colin. You should do it more often, you know, from time to time. As with everything else, we would like your insights into current game trends or big news.

Great episode Colin, Kristine is a fantastic guest, was not familiar with her work before but it was great to hear you both discussing games. Very glad you are getting back into them on your terms, looking forward to more talk in the future

I agree. I don't think it'll be quite monthly, but I expect we'll do it again before year's end.

Steimer! I knew this would happen eventually. Can’t wait to listen to this fireside chat.

Tony Palylyk

A little disappointed Steimer didn't mention her love for old Sierra PC games but the rest of the conversation was wonderful. :)

Any chance there could be a separate podcast feed for us that goes up with patreon access? I much prefer to listen through podcast app but currently would have to wait until Friday.

Jason

What a great podcast with Steimer, it was a great conversation about games

Peter Campbell

Very good podcast. Don't think you need to worry about your patreon burning to nothing yet.

This was great! Brandon Jones would also be fun for talking video games.

LastStandMedia

If you go to the CLS Patreon front page and look in the upper righthand corner, you should see an RSS feed link. Is that what you're looking for?

“If I still had skin in the game I’d probably chase this myself”. Please chase it Collin... Btw. This episode was fucking awesome.

Christian Doolan

So good I had to comment. A quality guest and a quality podcast. What's good games? Offline with 1-2 players would be a good start!

Reythan

Really love the podcast Colin. I am sure you hear this a lot but it would be really great if you could record video for these and post to YouTube like the normal CLS content. I know it will take some time for you to get a proper setup for interviewing people on video but really hope it is something you are considering.

The Rose Experience

Steimer always seemed like the coolest, great pod. Feel like this was just the surface with a lot more that you 2 wanted to explore, there will be a next time I'm sure.

I cannot say enough good things about this Fireside Chat. Hearing your voice on current gaming industry topics and having a dialogue with someone about it is somethings that I've missed. Great job to both of you! Can't wait for more!

Travis farmer

Great episode Colin! I love Steimers work on WGG she seems so down to earth.

Sam

Colin, what did you say you wanted to call 'Kinda Funny'? I must have rewound 5 times but you speak so fast. 'Argumentative?'

Johnathan McConnell

Loved this episode and I hope Steimer comes back for more Fireside Chats.

Jason Schreier is another obvious choice for a good gaming discussion. Loved the last one you did with him back in the day.
