The Phantom Time Hypothesis: Are We Living in 2017 or 1720? -- Colin’s Last Stand (Episode 48)

The Phantom Time Hypothesis suggests that 297 years -- 614 CE to 911 CE -- never actually happened. It's the brainchild of a couple of German historians, and suggests a conspiracy between the Catholic Church and some major imperial forces, a conspiracy only revealed centuries later when the western world began transitioning from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. Needless to say, you should buckle up for a strange ride. Colin's Last Stand is free of baked-in ads, product placement, and other obnoxious forms of advertising because of your support. Phil Crone

Best and weirdest conspiracy theory ever.

Alex Perkins

I really enjoyed this one!

Peter Campbell

I love this kind of thing, looking into an odd detail in history that you would not come across in daily life.

Great episode. Keep em coming!

BettyAnn Moriarty

I just love this episode. Fascinating. And I'm sure glad that October 14th was put back into the calendar or... 🤔 you wouldn't have a birthday. 😬 😉😘❤️Love you bud! Keep 'me comin'!

Josh Squires

Enjoyed the return to history. The phantom time theory blew my mind when I first learned about it in high school.

Smokey Joh

How weird! Especially since there is so much evidence to the contrary haha. But I suppose the world was smaller then. Great stuff, reminds me of the philadelphia experiment for some reason. 👌 top ep!

Andrew

Someone should really explore how Ancient Rome added 2 months to the calendar (August and October) I think and the effect it had on everything.

This was a very cool topic! Thank you for sharing!

Kevin Sullivan

Cool topic. I hope you can try to hit us with one a month like this, truly out of left field. It was cool to see the video title and have no idea at all what it was before clicking.

I love, love, love The Philadelphia Experiment. Will absolutely do a video on it in the future... but I don't want to turn into a conspiracy channel, so I'll give it some distance.

LastStandMedia

I'd like to do more like this, but it's a line worth straddling. It's clearly not true, so I don't want to have a deluge of shit like that on my channel.

Kevin Sullivan

I didn’t mean things that are not true should be on the channel often. I just meant it would be cool to see more obscure topics that nobody has heard of.

Josh in Tampa

Great episode. Nice to have a “what if” conspiracy theory to roll around every now and again.
