The Biden vs. Trump 2024 Presidential Debate: Reflections and More | Constellation, Episode 78

Welcome to a special, one-topic-driven episode of Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, I (Colin) am joined by Punching Up co-host Gene Park, Sacred Symbols co-host Chris Ray Gun, and storied game designer David Jaffe, and we gather for a some-four-hour chat all about the first of two scheduled presidential debates for the 2024 election cycle between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. This is obviously an exclusively, deeply political conversation, so be warned before you hit play. We touch on just about everything imaginable: The debate itself, the fallout thereafter, who we think will ultimately win, if we believe that Biden specifically will even ultimately be one of the nominees, and -- of course -- we get deep into the weeds on all of the important issues they spoke about during the debate, and more. Again, be warned: If you don't like or care about politics, or if you get upset when you hear serious, adult opinions you don't agree with, don't listen or watch. For those with open minds and a curiosity for a wide variety of opinions, however, please enjoy.

I want to preface my comment by saying that I'm not one of these people that hates it when Jaffe is on a show. I love his energy and I love the chaos. I think people in this audience are way too hard on him and obviously Colin sees that Jaffe is Lightning in a bottle and he's great on these shows. That being said. A little constructive criticism for you Jaffe if you ever bother to read these comments. I see myself in you a lot because I also have ADHD and I love conversation and I really get riled up whenever I talk to someone about something I'm excited/passionate about. I think the issue in this particular video that I found happened more than once is that Colin was attempting to moderate and let either Gene or Chris get their point in and you commandeered the argument so that you could "just finish your point" which I totally get because I do this all the time in conversation with my friends. The issue is that you were really long-winded in finishing your point, so to speak, and the conversation gets derailed into another part of the topic as a result and the listener never gets to go back to get what Chris or Gene were thinking about X thing because it doesn't make sense anymore. So I would love to see you working on tightening up the way you express your points because I do love hearing your perspective, I more often than not agree with you actually, but not at the expense of hearing what the other people on the pod have to say. I can check out Gabbin Games if I want your unadulterated chaotic rants <3

i really enjoyed this conversation. listened to it twice to be sure i didn't miss anything. i'd tune in regularly for more political discourse.

I honestly don’t know where else I can find such plainly spoken and reasonable discussion about politics. This is why I’ve always loved when Colin does politics (been listening since he first started on beyond) because even though he says things a lot of people often don’t agree with, he can say them in a way that doesn’t immediately get some inflammatory emotional reaction. Basically he explains himself well and any reasonable person can understand where he is coming from. If anybody has any suggestions where I can get more political discussion with this tone let me know. I am starved for reasonable political discussions without the talking points.

Also I had no problem with anybody on this episode 10/10 for me. Jaffe and Chris are the only ultra left people I know of that can even stomach hearing a different opinion. Major props to them

I wish Trump was the leader Chris and Jaffe believe he is.
