I Know the Pieces Fit, 'Cause I Watched Them Fall Away | Sacred Symbols, Episode 298

From this show's perspective, there simply aren't that many rational targets of acquisition in PlayStation's sphere, especially with a tightening economy all around us. But there are two teams in particular -- Helldivers' Arrowhead and Stellar Blade's Shift Up -- that seemed like obvious potential marks based on Sony's historical activity. But with Shift Up about to go public in South Korea and Arrowhead's CEO publicly stating they aren't being courted, are we overestimating these teams' want to join the family? Or maybe it's on Sony? Or perhaps it's something else... So let's discuss. Plus: Ex-second party partner Deviation closes its doors, Embracer continues its sell-off, a trailer leaks for Insomniac's cancelled Spider-Man multiplayer game, Final Fantasy XVI's PC port draws near, and more. Then: What do we think of Sea of Thieves' success in pre-order on PSN? What does a "community manager" do? Are Trophies worth protecting? Did Colin's undying love of Long Island unite two star-crossed listeners? Follow the hosts on Twitter! Calcifer

The comment by Ludwig Göransson to me is a response to Josef Fares' comment at the Game Awards. I also didn't like what he said but the fact is that there is a rivalry between the 2 mediums which is kinda sad and at the same time shows how far games have come to even be looked at as a threat by movie industry people. Also just slight disagreement with both of you on if games are a "waste of time". I take a somewhat more positive approach to viewing gaming and hobbies it seems. To me hobbies, just like jobs or any activity that you engage with in life are what give life meaining. So no, I don't agree that games are a waste of time. They are A use of your time. Just because something isn't producing anything for other people it doesn't mean it's a waste. But that's just my opinion!

Always appreciate Tool lyrics making their way into the episode's title. I KNOW THE PIECES FIT!
