As some of you may know, Fox 5 Las Vegas illegally had our video removed for 'copyright infringement,' despite that we used only about fifteen seconds of their publicly broadcast news clip while giving a brief profile on the background of Robert Banghart, directer of the Shine a Light foundation. Not only did we leave their watermark on the video so you can OBVIOUSLY see that it was originally broadcast by FOX5 .. but beyond that, what we did does NOT constitute copyright infringement.

Section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1986 (17 U.S. Code § 107) states that fair use of copyrighted material "for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright."

Now our YouTube channel has a strike, and things are looking downhill. I'm so bummed for a number of reasons. Not only because that video really represented, to me, an evolution of our craft - but also because I spent over $20,000 in paying for human voiceovers in Spanish, German, Brazilian Portugese, French and German, which wasn't cheap .. especially considering that the video is over an hour and forty minutes long. I was hoping to recoup those expenses with YouTube adrev but it's looking like a sinking investment, but I'm uploading it here if any real ones wanna support.
