I made the head of the parasite cartilage color as if it’s harder than the flesh-colored shaft.  This implies the head is harder for penetration, and this specualtion makes one think about the science of the creature, which in turns creates curiosity which creates excitement.

I also didn’t draw tentacles coming out of every hole as if there is a scientific reason, for the same reason as what I said earlier.

There are some craters on the head, as if the DNA was going to make them holes but remembered to fill the holes there only.  This is seen in some species and fossils in real life, like the fish with legs, or lizards with fish fins, or dinosaurs with feathers.  It’s a transitioning creature, still evolving to something different with each generation.
